My Favourite Month

@ecency-star released a prompt today asking us to talk about our favourite month, and while it's tough to choose only 1, I'll do my best and describe the reason for my choice.

April

April to me is a good month, for two reasons now. The first reason - prior to this year - was the fact that by April the weather starts to change, and we start getting warmer days, and all of the smell of spring is in full swing, and it's the time that the summer months are drawing nearer.

There's always a feeling in the air when that happens, and people start to feel uplifted in a way which is always nice to see. Sometimes we can have some pretty bad summers here in Ireland, so as well as the fact that it's coming in April is great and leaves me with the feeling of not knowing whether or not the summer will be good. That uncertainty on it is a good reason to feel happy, and hope for warm days.

Also, it's a good time to start planning what I want to do for the summer, and what holidays, or days out are available.

The Other Reason
Another reason April is a good month for me is that my boy was born in April, and in only a few months he's going to be one and will be able to enjoy this summer - considering when he was a newborn he could barely go out in direct sunlight.

He has always been pretty aware, and would always be looking around at people, now though, he is actively reacting to people. He has started waving when people wave at him, and when he's eating his snacks - Rusks are his favourite - he has started to give the biscuits to people, and laughs as he pulls them away before anyone can have a bite. As well as this, he's talking, all he can really say is dada, mama, and baba, but sometimes it sounds like he says "hey dada," which is either random or on purpose, we're not sure.

He's also grabbing things and standing up now, so he isn't far from walking.
