Hello, Splinterlands community! I'm Zactian, and I'm here to discuss Splinterlands' new Set Rentals feature. This is my second blog which discusses 1-click rentals in-game Splinerlands Chaos Legion Starter. I will also include my experience in battle brawl match gold league.

This major development enhances the game’s ecosystem and reflects a broader trend in digital gaming towards flexibility and player interaction. The feature addresses common issues in card games by allowing easy one-click rentals of powerful cards, helping beginners remain competitive, and enabling experienced players to experiment with different strategies. Currently, only starter cards are available for rental, but more options are expected in the future.

Pros and Cons of Using the New Splinterlands Chaos Legion Starter Set Rental Feature

Pros:

  1. Accessibility for New Players: Lowers the entry barrier for beginners by providing easy access to powerful cards.
  2. Flexibility: Allows players to test different strategies with easy rental features. Hopefully, They will soon add different card levels for specific leagues, and various strategies will be involved.
  3. Convenience: Offers an easy one-click rental process, making it user-friendly.
  4. Future Expansion: Plans for additional sets increase future rental options.

Cons:

  1. Limited Current Options: Only the Chaos Legion Starter Set is available for now.
  2. Season Constraints: Rental periods are tied to season timelines, which may limit flexibility. But for me, I think 1 season is a good way of renting except if it's max level and expensive on a certain card.
  3. No Mid-Season Cancellations: As I observed rentals cannot be canceled if less than seven days remain in the season.

Pros and Cons of Using Peakmonsters

Pros:

  1. Organization: More organized and easier to locate specific cards and levels for rent.
  2. Cost Efficiency: Better visibility on the cost of cards, allowing for more informed rental decisions.
  3. Advanced Options: Suitable for players looking to rent stronger cards for higher leagues and competitive play.

Cons:

  1. Initial Learning Curve: This may be more complex for beginners compared to the in-game rental feature. For me, it's easy and convenient, if you invest and know how to manage account keys then this would also be easy for you.
  2. Separate Platform: Requires using an external website, which might be less convenient for some players.

First position - Regal Peryton

  • Acts as a tank in the first position because of 6 speed and Flying ability which has a 25% chance of evading melee and range attacks from the opponent.

Second position - Bramble Pixie

  • A second main damage because I have Katrelba Gobson in third position, this can be a good tank because of Healing abilities and has Reach Ability which can melee attack in second position.

Third position - Katrelba Gobson

  • My main damage to my team because of double strike ability which can do twice an attack with Bloodlust ability that can increase all stats by 1 if this unit defeats an opponent.

Fourth position - Supply Runner

  • My support range type damage which has Swiftness ability,3 range damage, and a 5 speed.

Fifth position - Venari Scout

  • Opportunity attacker which attacks the opponent's lowest health.

Last position - Goblin Pyschic

  • A second support magic type damage, Affliction ability, Healing ability, and a Silinnce ability. This is good support but can also be easy to target by sneak attack strategy because of low speed and no protection.

Analyzing Battle

Both teams pick the same Immortalis summoner and use Katrelba Gobson, Katrelba Gobson is quite overpowered on certain rule sets because of bloodlust and double strike ability in this gold league level. The only difference is in our positioning of cards and picking of cards I use Bramble Pixie while the opponent uses Vampire Bat and Mycelic Slipspawn. Overall, the enemy positioning is well maintained with using Vampire Bat as a tank and Mycelic Slipspawn as Sneak, Range, and Magic attacks taunting the attacker side. I think gonna win this one considering that I dominate the opponent both speed and damage, but let's see in the battle.

As you can see my Katrelba Gobson is well-fed because of Bloodlust and Double Strike 3 melee damage, making this match easy to win plus I dominate the opponent in speed and damage difference. If the opponent had used stronger cards and expensive or useful cards, I might have lost in this battle.

My favorite element line-up is the water element, where the majority of the units are fast. If you wish to utilize the water element, please go through a few of my posts, I hope you find them helpful.
