I've been playing Soulkeep more lately and it's really fun.
If you didn't know already, Splinterlands has a Tower Defence game called Soulkeep. It's a PVE game, but through tournaments where you compete against other people's scores you can earn rewards, making it a P2E like Splinterlands itself is.
Leagues
In Soulkeep to advance in leagues, you first need to play singleplayer mode. It kind of feels like you are completing missions in order to prove you are worthy of advancing.
After you complete your mandatory singleplayer mission games, then you have the grinding phase, where you need to defeat a certain amount of monsters for each rarity. That can be done by participating in daily tournament runs which are free to enter or pay with tournament tickets to play multiple times.
As you get higher in leagues the game will get a lot harder to advance in, but in exchange your reward drop rate % go up significantly and you gain access to higher tier Tournaments, where you can earn more SPS.
I have completed my League 2 solo games already, now I just need to grind out the fiend kills and then I can advance to League 3.
I'm doing my daily FREE tournament runs only right now, as I don't really feel like spending my tickets yet.
Tournaments
Tournaments in Soulkeep are how you earn SPS.
Tournaments are daily and currently there is a roughly 31k SPS pool for each day, which is quite a lot of SPS. Everyday you can get 1 free entry and after that you need to pay tournament tickets to play.
SPS is given based on your performance in the leaderboards and dependent on what league you are in.
Already in League 2 you can earn over 100 SPS everyday if you are skilled at the game.
And in League 5 people are earning hundreds of SPS every single day.
Packs are cheap
I think Soulkeep will become a pretty big thing once Splinterlands takes off again and the reason I actually wanted to write a post about Soulkeep, was because I noticed how cheap the NIGHTMARE packs were on Hive-Engine.
It's an amazing time to get invested into Soulkeep and start earning.
Thoughts
I had an idea I wanted to share, for what I think would be really cool in the future for Soulkeep.
The idea is that people could create their own Soulkeep maps and maybe even fiends. We could share our created maps and challenges and even set up bounties for beating these levels. Then if someone happens to great something truly perfect, it could get used in the actual game for tournaments or something.
A lot of non Web3 games have had a lot of success with these types of systems where everyone can create whatever their imagination comes up with, with the given game engine and building blocks. This would be really unique for a Web3 gaming experience I feel like.
Do you have any thoughts/idea for Soulkeep ? Do you play Soulkeep ? Are you invested in Soulkeep ?
