The Episode Challenge: A Praetorian Bounty

The People's Guild: A Splinterlands Podcast

Welcome back to the People's Guild. We've started a new segment of the show in which we aim to engage the writers & content creators out there through a new per-episode challenge.

First and foremost, congratulations to @saydie for securing the top prize in this week's challenge! As promised, 50% of our rewards on this post will be sent his way - well done! As a bonus to all that participated (@bravetofu, @nozem01, @altumns-supot), everyone has been sent an Untamed pack (check your Hive-Engine accounts!). Thank you again to all that contributed to the first #TPGCHALLENGE!

The Next Challenge

Do you have a creative idea for selling Splinterlands card packs? Now is your chance to influence the future of the game!

Inspired by this recent post from @imp0stor, we'd like to put out the call to the rest of the community to rally in our creative efforts. Over the years, we've heard great ideas along these lines from other Praetorian citizens like @psilence, @fatjimmy, @davemccoy, @bulldog1205, @infidel1258, @dejota, @ghostlybg among others, so, without further ado...

Join the challenge and share your thoughts on everything from pricing & pack size to guaranteed rarities & starter decks. Whether you’re a passionate collector, trader, or strategist, we want to hear your best ideas for keeping the collecting aspect of Splinterlands both fun, accessible AND engaging!

This challenge comes at an exciting time: the company will soon be hired to design a brand new core set, and your feedback could directly shape the future of the game. We’re looking for clever, innovative ways to make Splinterlands more accessible to new players while still offering the depth and thrill that veteran collectors love.

How can we ensure fair pricing, introduce exciting new mechanics, or create packs that offer meaningful value to both collectors and players? Can you come up with a starter deck system that balances accessibility with competitiveness? What about a unique approach to guaranteed rarities?

This is your chance to have a real impact on the future design of Splinterlands—let’s make it a game for everyone while keeping the thrill of collecting alive. Submit your ideas and let’s reshape the future of Splinterlands packs together!

Once you've got your post together, be sure to tag us @thepeoplesguild & toss the tag #TPGCHALLENGE on there so we can be sure to get eyes on it.

As a note, our weekly challenge will be based upon any of the following:

  • A Monster or Summoner
  • An Ability
  • A Ruleset
  • An Element
  • A Mana Cap
  • A suggested Ability or Ruleset
  • A Player Bounty
  • Marketing & other DAO-related activities
  • Other Hive games & Dapps

We're trying to come up with some fair measures (perhaps # of comments, # of reblogs & shares, something else entirely?) and some cool reward ideas - in the meantime, we'd love to hear from you all. Let us know your suggestions for any/all of the above!

Also, drop a comment & let us know if this challenge would be something you'd enjoy.

Let the brainstorming begin!
