Hello everyone!
In the past I already gave some advice for beginning Splinterlands players. Today I will focus on a very specific element in my beginning days of my Splinterlands journey, namely joining a guild. When I just started playing Splinterlands, I watched a lot of streamers on Twitch. One of those streamers was @sneakry who was one of the founders of the 420 guild. I decided to ask if I could join the guild and guess what? I got approved for one of the beginners guilds which was perfect at that moment in time.
The buildings of the guild weren't that much upgraded but I had something more important, I got to know new, more experienced players. This was the most important reason for me for joining a guild. The social contact with fellow Splinterlands players, which were truely amazing. Although I wasn't that active in the guild, I still have contact with a couple of them. As I know they often read my articles, hereby a shout out to you guys: you are all amazing!
Besides the social aspect, there were often organized giveaways as well. As already said, Sneakry was a Twitch streamer at that time and while he was streaming, he was often hosting giveaways (between the workouts). Yes, you read it well, while he was streaming Splinterlands, he was doing workouts as well. A quite funny combination if you would ask me! He was also hosting giveaways, by example through marbles. These were races where every participant had his own marble and often the top 3 received a (Splinterlands) goodie.
Furthermore an advantage of being a member of a guild is that you can participate in brawls. These are battles between guilds. Every brawl has different frays which have their own rules in terms of which cardsets / foils could be used. When it's battle time, the games are happening as usual with the difference that you have a certain time frame to place your sommoner + monsters ready for the battle. When you fully participated in such a brawl, you'll receive merrits which can be used to buy Gladiator packs at a price of 2000 merrits each. In these Gladiator packs are surprise surprise gladiator cards, which are quite powerful cards with the bloodlust ability.
I already mentioned the social aspect, but when I think about my guild, I keep thinking about a place where you get to know other people which are interested in Splinterlands. Besides that, people are really helpfull and just want to have everyone a good time. They didn't only help me grow my Splinterlands journey, but it helped me to start on Hive as well. They pointed me to some great communities, helped me out when I had questions or just were there when I needed them. So hereby a shoutout to everyone with who I have been in a guild so far!
As you could read, joining a guild gives plenty of advantages so it's definitely a must do (if you're new to Splinterlands). If you would ask me, what is the most important advantage, I would say the social aspect. You get to know new people while learning new aspects of the game / Hive /... Why didn't you join a guild yet?
It all began in December 2021, I was a bit bored and was looking for a new game to play on my laptop. After googling a bit, I saw the term play2earn in my google results. I didn't know it at that time but it seemed awesome, earning money while playing games instead of spending money on those games. Soon I learned that play2earn means that you can indeed earn some money to play the games. How does it work? While playing those games, you can earn NFT's of those games. These NFT's can be traded and sold for cryptocurrencies which could be swapped for fiat if you would like to. That's how I started.
Do you want to try out Splinterlands aswell?
