Splinterfest: Visions of the Future Panel

On day one of Splinterfest, Creative Director Nate Aguila and his Creative Team gave attendees a first look at some possibilities of what the future may have in store for players of Splinterlands.
The audience members were invited to be honorary creative team members that were privy to a brainstorming session where we discussed possible creative ideas for the future.
Some of the following ideas are not necessarily road map items, but instead potential future concepts.

Check out some of the highlights below!

Battles 2.0

The Creative Team has been hard at work preparing for Battles 2.0, and we showed off our initial concept! It includes:

  • Gameplay Visual Update
  • Character Animations
  • Character Voice Lines
  • New SFX
  • New Battle Screen

Oh, you want to see it in action? You got it.

Splinterfest: Splinterlands Main Theme

The Creative Team also presented a brand new theme song for Splinterlands! It was composed by our very own Isaria and produced by none other than Jeff Broadbent, who has also produced scores for some of the world's biggest video game franchises, including Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, League of Legends, Avatar, Transformers, Marvel, Magic: the Gathering, and many others.

Illustrations for the video were created by Alex Shiga, Behnam Makoui animated and edited it, and Creative Director Nate Aguila provided his vision and guidance to bring it all together.

You can listen to the new theme song on the Splinterlands homepage as well as on Soundcloud and Spotify.

Attendees of Splinterfest were the very first to see the stats for Lux Vega. Score!

The Creative Team also discussed Runi, a collection of unique generative NFTs built on the Ethereum blockchain and usable in-game as a playable card. Not only did we reveal the Runi's properties and traits, but we also dropped a pretty bad-ass trailer. Check it out below.

Last but not least, we revealed Manasurge, a physical card game under development. Battle for control of six elemental mana wells using many of the in-game characters that you've grown to love. Will you be the first to close the rifts?

Stay tuned for more updates from the Splinterlands!
