Hey fellow Splinterlovers,
Since devs changed the way how tournaments are played (no entry fee & overhauled prieces), I noticed that players with an overwhelming amount of power are farming low level tournaments again - as payout increased and it became profitable again.
In exaxmple the current Imperial Academy Bronce Series tournament. Take a look at the participants of round 2:
- XSUILX - 12 million power
- Spirits4You - 11.5 million power
- Schachoberhessen - 16 million power
(Just to name some examples - there are more players like that)
This is not meant to fingerpoint and shame these 3 given examples, but having a bronce tournament and then having players participate that are normally playing in Diamond or Champion league is kind of missing the point.
In my opinion, tournaments needs not only a minimum power to enter, but also a maximum power - so that a power range is created in order to join (i.e. 1.000 - 100.000 power) - to prevent these things happen.
I see already the complaints of players who would be excluded by that change in the comment section, but realistical speaking, the game needs to become more starter-friendly. We need new players and we need new funds. Otherwise, this game will (continue? to) slowly bleed out.
-> And having new players beeing stomped in bronce tournaments (which is de facto the best way for new players to grow) is not encouraging them to stay.
Just my two cents about this topic. So how do you guys see this topic?
