Introduction

Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Finally, the print for the Chaos Legion set has ended with the transition of CL Soulbound Rewards to Rebellion Soulbound Rewards. This means that the old soulbound set will no longer be available on Gwen's Glint Shop and the only way to get them was to buy them in the market. But before the rewards gets replaced, we got a reveal from some of the community members about this new soulbound rewards, including their stats and abilities so last week, I was able to give my thoughts on a few of them and on this post, I will once again give my thoughts on another batch of common rebellion rewards and some way I could use them in battle.

Drybone Hobgoblin was a 4- mana melee unit that comes with both Reach and Immunity at level 1, making it immune for negative status effects while also able to attack at the second position and as it reaches level 10, it gains Shatter which makes it possible to remove all the armor of the target upon successful attack. A a melee unit, its stats were quite decent with a max health of 7, max speed of of 5 and max damage of of 3 which can be further increased when used together with the summoner Tarsa or Lorkus which can also give it the Trample to make it attack again once it defeats its target and Fury to inflict twice the damage on units with 10 or more mana. Given that it only has 4 mana, it can work as a secondary tank for Little League match and its Immunity will also be helpful to make it survive on Noxious Fumes ruleset.

Revealed By@nateaguila

The next card, Giant Alpine Skink, was an 8- mana melee unit that was revealed by @nateaguila during the most recent town hall along with Elias Max Pruitt which is the next legendary airdrop summoner. At level 1, this card has the Shield ability, making melee and range attacks inflicts less damage and when it reaches level 5, it gains Phase which allows it to evade magic attacks. Finally, as it reaches level 10, it gains Stun which can prevent the target to attacking for a turn. As it also cost 8 mana, this can be a good alternative for Diemonshark as it can reduce both melee and range attacks while also has the ability to evade magic damage but it was also more like a modern version of Chain Golem, but fast given its set of abilities. In terms of summoner, I think it will do great when used together with Posibilus the Wise that can give it the Trample ability so it can attack again if it defeats the target while the Armored Strike and Piercing from Elias Max Pruitt will also allow it to inflict more damage to the opponent. It will be an interesting card to use on What Doesn't Kill You as it gains the Enrage which makes it faster and increase its attack.

Revealed By@breakingbenjamin

The reveal for Mar Torem Trader comes from @breakingbenjamin which works as the Narrative Lead of Splinterlands, expanding the lore of Praetoria. For a 3 mana range unit, Mar Torem Trader comes with a decent amount of life along with Heal which it gets at level 10 and while it does not have much damage but it has Headwinds which will reduce the range damage of all opponent units by -1 then we can just boost its damage with the help of the summoner Prophet Rosa for additional 2 damage. As it only has 3 mana, it can work well on Little League battles but it can still work well on high mana battles specially when Going the Distance or Close Range was part of the active ruleset as its Headwinds will help in reducing the range damage of the opponent.

For the last card of this batch, we have Blackmoor Wild Elf which is a 5- mana magic unit. It has the Camouflage ability at level 1 which makes it impossible to be directly attacked unless it was on the first position and Amplify that increases reflected damage by +1 as soon as it reach level 2. And when it reaches level 10, it gains the Cripple ability which reduces the max health of the target. It does not have much magic damage but with the help of Obsidian, it can increase its magic attack by +1 while its Amplify will be useful to increase the Thorns damage that a melee unit receives when the summoner Eternal Tofu was used or we can use it when Briar Patch and Fire & Regret was among the active ruleset. It could also even work on Counterspell to increase the damage the opponent received from magic then just use Immortalis to Void the magic damage on your side just like on the battle below.

Final Thoughts

And this ends the second part of my review for the Rebellion Soulbound rewards with another 4 set of common cards which has left us with the last 4 cards before I move with the rare cards. Among these 4, there were 2 cards that I think I will use the most which is the Ginat Alpine Skink and Mar Toren Trader as I frequently use water team. I also like to express my gratitude to everyone that helps in sharing the information about the cards.

Thank you and see you at the next post.
