Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Weekly battle challenge in Splinterlands. This week's theme is Angelic mandarin. A water elemental archer-type monster.
Angelic mandarin is a rare monster with the benefit of small mana points. This is advantageous because it can be used in the fight with a small amount of mana and in the big mana battle.
The angelic mandarin is a new monster introduced by the chaos edition, and I frequently play in modern mode. As you may know, the edition of the cards in my deck begins with the untamed series.
Angelic mandarins are a type of ranged monster. In low manna battles, this monster is a tank, but it is at the back.
The angelic mandarin position should not be placed at the back with the addition of "triage" skills at level 4. And, if you want another "silence" skill, you must combine 115 cards.
Battle and planning
This time, I involved with fight that used a little mana. The elements that are available are water, earth, and death. Most of the formations used in the Silver and Bronze leagues are earth elements that rely on magical attacks. Based on that estimate, I decided used the water element with summoner Bortus.
Because there are no other rules in this fight, I will use the front and back shields. Specifically, by relying on the magical "tank" in the front and the recovery power in the back. That's why I need monsters with a lot of health. And I settled on angelic mandarin.
So here's my setup:
 | Bortus is the summoner. This summoner's ability is to reduce 1 point of magical attack. |
 | Tank is a djinn oshannus with void abilities that allow him to withstand magical attacks. If the enemy uses melee attacks, I rely on oshannus's speed to avoid enemy attacks. |
 | A spirit hoarder serves as a backup. This I used as a restorer in my formation's back row. With its healing power, this monster can withstand the attack of opportunity monsters with 2-point attack power. |
 | Angelic Mandarin serves as a tank and an enemy battering ram on the front lines. This monster was chosen because it has five health points at level 1. It can withstand two sneak attacks from opponents. |
Why am I employing Bortus and this formation?
- With a limited amount of manna in this battle, earth element users will typically use magic attacks. In the chaos edition, most magic monsters have low manna.
- If the opponent uses the water element and summoner kelya frendul, who has a shield, my formation will block the opponent's djinn oshannus attack.
- If the enemy uses the death element, which reduces magical power, my djinn oshannus will be overwhelmed, but angelic mandarin arrow attacks can erode the enemy's defense.
- If the enemy relies on sneak attacks, recovery, and tanks with high health points will be my lifeline.
That is my fighting formation, and let's get to the battleground.
Because it was just reset from the previous season, this fight is in the bronze league on its way to silver. As a result, my summoner and enemy levels were the same. The enemy, in my estimation, uses earth elements but does not use monsters with a magical attack. It's just that the enemy relies on sneak attacks, for which I have calculated the anticipation.
First round starts
The attack was launched by the djinn oshannus, who pierced the mycelic infantry shield. My monster's decision to use magic worked in my favor. Djinn oshannus is unaffected by mycelic skill. However, the mandarin's angelic attack did not affect mycelic. When the goblin thief attacked the angelic mandarin, the angelic mandarin tank strategy kicked in. The spirit hoarder restores angelic, negating the goblin thief's attacks. While the Khmer princess failed to harm the djinn oshannus.
The second round
The pattern from round one is repeated. Djinn oshannus continues to attack Mycelic. The mycelic infantry must also attack the djiin oshannus. Djinn, on the other hand, has a lot of health points and can still survive. The goblin thief was still trying to breach the angelic mandarin's defenses in the back.
Third round
Mycelic infantry was defeated in the battle. Make the goblin thief take the lead position. The goblin thief's health points are depleted by angelic mandarins and spirit hoarders. The goblin thief has a chance to survive this round.
The fourth round
The djinn oshannus attack killed the goblin thief and pushed the Khmer princess to the front. The angelic mandarin and spirit hoarder take advantage of this opportunity to eliminate the Khmer princess and win this battle.
All of the personnel that I sent to the battle arena returned safely and intact as in the initial formation.
The combination of the three monsters is capable of producing victory in this battle. Thanks to the assistance of Bortus's power, the main character was able to defend against magical attacks.
While in the back, the angelic mandarin can withstand attacks thanks to the assistance of a spirit hoarder. This fight teaches us that securing the front and back of the formation increases the likelihood of victory.
There is still a possibility that this formation will be changed from the middle. However, due to the limited number of mana points, finding monsters with snipe and opportunity skills is extremely difficult.
My strategy worked. I was also able to demonstrate that Angelic mandarins at level 1 can be an excellent rear tank when combined with a spirit hoarder. Of course, angelic mandarins become more powerful if they have a shield or the assistance of a summoner who provides additional shield power.
Hopefully, this article has shown you how to use angelic mandarin in low manna point battles. If the Angelic mandarin level is later raised, its ability will become even more intriguing to discuss.
