This change caused the battle pages in Wild and Modern Format to have a Halloween-themed background. In addition, we had some Glint cards and reward chests receive Halloween skins. Wild / Modern Halloween
The simplest change was the battle page background in the Modern and Wild Formats. In the first the choice was a pumpkin-headed character on fire and in the second it was a. These changes may seem simple, but they bring something fundamental to games: player immersion.
When a change or alteration is made that breaks the pattern that players are used to, it generates a feeling of novelty, making them feel renewed to play another game. I believe that the next step would be some kind of event, like in games where players have to complete a quest, defeat a boss and receive a reward from the event. This would be a good idea for the next events, what do you think?
Pumpkin Loot Chests
In addition to the shapes having their background changed, we also had the Glint Shop chests changing their appearance. During the Halloween event, the X Y Z chests now have the appearance of a scary pumpkin, adding another point to the immersive atmosphere that we mentioned before. It's also worth mentioning the design team's dedication because the art came out really well.
Halloween Card Skins
Now the visual change that got the most attention during the week with a lot of comments on Snaps and Threas were the Skins added to Splinterlands on some cards to celebrate Halloween. Every now and then, someone ended up commenting that they found a new Halloween skin during the matches. My favorite was Uraeus', which had a bright detail in his eyes that made all the difference, as if he were ready to attack at any moment.
There was also a Kelya Witch skin, with a pointy hat and green skin, but the one that caught my attention was Venari Marksrat's Mummy Skin, which gave rise to several theories in the community about why he would be bandaged like a mummy. According to comments from Splinterlands players, since Venari Marksrat is always used in early positions or in a way that he is promptly eliminated, he would be one of the ones who would end up getting hurt the most. The reason is its martyr ability that activates when the card is eliminated, giving +1 status to surrounding allies.
Importance of Skins - Glamour System
The interesting thing to observe in this visual update of some cards was seeing many people saying that if it were available in the store they would buy these Halloween skins to use on their cards. This is the main insight we took away from the Halloween event, because it was an idea that Splinterlands had for a while that will be implemented with the Glamour System.
The Glamour System will allow Splinterlands players to obtain permanent copies of these and other skins. In addition, from the image released in the Town Hall post, it appears that there will be an upgrade system for these skins as well. These skins will be added to the Glint Shop and also to the Voucher Shop and the importance is that it will generate an organic demand for items from within the game from the current Splinterlands playerbase itself and from future players who are interested in changing the look of the cards.

Essa mudança fez com que as páginas de batalha no Wild e Modern Format ficassem com um fundo da temática de Halloween. Wild / Modern Halloween
A mudança mais simples foi o background da página de batalha nos Formatos Modern e Wild. No primeiro a escolha foi um personagem de cabeça de abóbora pegando fogo e já no segundo foi um. Essa mudanças podem parecer simples, mas elas trazem algo fundamental aos jogos, a imersão dos jogadores.
Quando é feito uma mudança, alteração, que quebra o padrão que os jogadores estão acostumados aquilo gera um sentimento de novidade, fazendo com que os ânimos sejam renovados para jogar mais uma partida. Acredito que o próximo passo seria algum tipo de evento como acontece nos jogos em que os jogadores precisam fazer alguma quest, derrotar algum boss e recebem uma recompensa do evento. Isso seria uma boa ideia para os próximos eventos, o que você acha?
Pumpkin Loot Chests
Além dos formatos tendo seu background alterado, tivemos também os baús do Glint Shop mudando de aparência. Durante o evento de Halloween, os baús X Y Z agora têm a aparência de uma abóbora assustadora, adicionando mais um ponto à atmosfera de imersão que comentamos antes. Vale mencionar também o empenho da equipe de design porque as artes ficaram muito boas.
Halloween Card Skins
Agora a mudança visual que mais chamou atenção durante a semana com muitos comentários nos Snaps e nas Threas foram as Skins adicionadas no Splinterlands em algumas cartas para celebrar o Halloween. Acabou aparecendo de tempos em tempos alguém comentando que achou uma nova skin de Halloween durante as partidas. A minha favorita foi a do Uraeus, que deu um detalhe brilhante nos olhos que fez toda a diferença, como se estivesse pronto para atacar a qualquer momento.
Houve também uma skin da Kelya de Bruxa, com o chapéu pontiagudo e a cor de pele verde, mas a que chamou a atenção foi a Skin de Múmia do Venari Marksrat, que fez surgir várias teorias na comunidade do porque ele estaria enfaixado como uma múmia. De acordo com os comentários dos jogadores de Splinterlands, como o Venari Marksrat é sempre usado nas primeiras posições ou de forma que ele seja prontamente eliminado, ele seria um dos que mais acabaria se machucando. O motivo é sua habildade martyr que se ativa quando a carta é eliminada dando +1 de status para os aliados ao redor.
Importância das Skins - Glamour System
O interessante de se observar nessa atualização visual de algumas cartas foi ver muitas pessoas dizendo que se estivesse disponível na loja comprariam essas skins de halloween para usar nas suas cartas. Esse é o principal insight que tiramos do evento de Halloween, porque valia uma ideia que o Splinterlands tinha faz um tempo que será implementada com o Glamour System.
O Glamour System vai possibilitar aos jogadores do Splinterlands obter cópias permanentes dessas e outras skins. Além disso, pela imagem divulgada no post do Town Hall, parece que vai ter um sistema de upgrade nessas skins também. Essas skins serão adicionadas ao Glint Shop e também no Voucher Shop e a importância é que vai gerar uma demanda orgânica por items de dentro do jogo da própria playerbase atual do Splinterlands e de futuros jogadores que se interessarem por alterar o visual das cartas.
