Ruleset

  • Little League, only summoners or monsters who cost 4 mana or less can use in this battle.
  • firefox_s18XBNqE2O.png Back to Basics: monsters lose all abilities.
  • mana cap.
  • can use Fire, Earth, and Dragon element.

My Lineup and strategy

In the Back to Basics ruleset we can only depend on the ability of our summoner.
Because we can only use range monsters in this battle we decided to use the Dragon element with the secondary element Fire. Because we have a summoner who can decrease the range monster damage in the Dragon element, and the Fire element has several good monsters we can use in the Little League ruleset, although the Earth element has some good range monsters too but it needs another unit support/tanker to use it effectively.

All monster not have any ability so we positioning the monster base on the damage first the highest damage we put behind, and for unit we put in the front is either have fast speed to evade the attack or have high HP.

Ignore the ability in the card picture, all ability not working in the Back to Basics ruleset. The Lineup we use :

Summoner or monsterAbilitiesDescription
Quick the Devious, Summoner. Can decrease enemy monster speed and range damage by -1We used this Dragon summoner because it can decrease enemy range monster damage and increase the chance for our monster to attack first, and evade the enemy attack by reducing the enemy's speed by -1.
Naga Assassin, 1st position, Tanker.I put this monster here because have great speed, I hope can evade 1-2 attack from the enemy. This unit can't attack from this position because the range monster only can from behind (2nd-6th position) and this unit's damage is not good only has 2 damage events if we put it behind doesn't give too much damage to the enemy.
Lava Spider, 2nd position, attacker.I put this monster here because this monster has high HP, suitable to become a 2nd tanker despite the damage is low like Naga Assassin.
Xenith Archer, 3rd position, attacker. We put this monster here same reason like Lava Spider has second highest HP so we put this monster here to protect our monster behind (main attacker).
Venari Marksrat, 4th position, attacker.Based on the HP it has 3rd largest HP with 2 damage so we put it behind Xenith Archer.
Pyrewatch Devil, 5th position, attacker.I think everyone already sees the pattern, how we positioning our unit right? Starting from this position we changed our evaluation now it's prioritized more on the damage. This unit has 3 damage, more damage than the unit in front.
Scavo Firebolt, 6th position, attacker. This is our main attacker who has the highest damage. Although it has a good HP of 6 we put it behind.

Our Formation is finished and we are ready to battle :

Did your Strategy Work?

Yes, the strategy is working, there are several reasons why we can win this battle :

  • Our Naga Assassin manages to evade the enemy attack although only evades 1 attack in the Little League ruleset evading 1 attack is crucial to get the victory, the unit usually only has low HP/armor :
  • As you can see in the enemy positioning, it put a low HP monster in front so we could easily kill it. After we kill it, the monster in the 2nd position Xenith Archer moves to the first position so can't attack anymore it decreases the monster who can attack our monster.
  • The final reason we can win this battle I think because the enemy soulbond card Pyrewatch Devil 1 less level than our card, which makes our Pyrewatch Devil damage is higher :
