Hello everyone, EOS is ended how many chests have you got? very interesting to play the battle in this season, many veterans still learning how to use the Rebellion. With the rotation of the card, the Untamed edition can't be used anymore in this Modern Format making the battle for us Splinterlands scholars easier, at least for the last season, but maybe will become harder after many players master how to use the Rebellion card. Whatever happens the Rebellion Patch for sure makes this game more interesting than before. Today I will
blog again about Splinterlands contest Battle Mage Secrets Challenge. This Week's Theme is about the Rise of the Commons ruleset.
I play in the modern format, Champion League, using my scholar account from Balthazar.

Frankly, I don't memorize all the monsters with rare or common rarity in Splinterlands, usually, I will look at the other rulesets in this battle, and decide based on the other rulesets what elements are usually suitable for use in that ruleset, I will then look at what monsters only those available in the summoner with the elements I want to use. If it turns out that the monster we want is not available I will choose the 2nd best element and repeat the process.
In this battle, we decide the elements and monsters we use based on:
Therefore we decided to focus on attacking the monsters in the first position, using the Death element and 2 melee attackers.
This is my lineup :
| Summoner or monster | Abilities | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Thaddius Brood, Summoner. Can decrease enemy monster magic damage and HP by -1 | This summoner is great against magic attacks. Will be useful in case the enemy brings a magic monster. | |
| Curse Windeku, 1st position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Thorn, Heal, and Slow. | This is our 2nd tanker for the ruleset Super Sneak because can restore HP every round because of the ability Heal and every time the melee monster hits this monster will get damaged by -2 HP cause of the Thorns ability. If the attacker monster has Shield ability only gets damage -1 HP. Slow is another good support ability, it will decrease all enemy monsters' speed by -1 giving our monster an increased chance to attack first and kill the enemy monster. | |
| Shadow Snitch 2nd position, attacker, and 2nd tanker. Has the ability Reach, Affliction, and Dodge. | This melee monster can attack from the 2nd position because has the ability Reach. We use this monster because has the ability of Affliction, in case the enemy brings a monster who can heal like Baakjira from the water element we can stop that by inflicting Affliction status on the enemy monster (each attack has the chance of 50% to inflict Affliction status). Dodge ability increase the chance to dodge melee and ranged attack by 25%), this will be useful as 2nd tanker. With the Windeku these 2 monsters will be our main attackers. | |
| Ravenhood Warden, 3rd position, attacker, and support. Has the ability Protect, and Inspire. | The Protect ability which will add +2 armor to all friendly monsters. The Inspire ability adds +1 melee damage I used this monster especially to buff our monster in the 1st and 2nd position. | |
| Venari Bonesmith, 4th position, attacker. Has the ability Life Leech, Poison, and Dispel. | Use this monster because of the Poison ability (if the Poison status is inflicted on the enemy it will decrease their HP by -2 every round**. Life Leech's ability will make this monster's HP increase every time the attack hits the enemy. Dispel is a good support ability because can remove all positive statuses from the enemy monster like Swiftness, Bloodlust, Inspire, Etc. Put it here to protect from the front and back attack, I just guess that higher chance the enemy will attack from the front only so I put it almost at the last position. | |
| Supply runner 5th position, Attacker. Has the ability Swiftness and Strengthen. | Use this monster especially because it has a Swiftness ability to increase the speed of all ally monsters by +1. With high speed, we have a higher chance to attack first, evade the enemy attack, and kill the enemy before they can attack. Strengthen ability will increase all HP monsters by 1, it will make our monsters more hard to kill. |
You can see that from the enemy formation not focus on attacking our monster but bring Deeplurker who will attack the monster with the lowest HP because have have the Opportunity ability.
A strategy that works well:
our summoner Thaddius Brood decreased the enemy River Nymph magic attack, while our Tanker Windeku damaged the Diemonshark with the Thorns, The Protect ability from Ravenhood Warden, and the Heal from Windeku helped Windeku live longer. Focus fire attacking the enemy monster in the first position makes the enemy monster tanker Diemonshark die first before our tanker. We use Double tanker Windeku and Shadow Snitch with Reach ability help to protect our main attacker behind. The Slow ability from the Windeku and Swiftness from Supply Runner make our monster speed on par with the enemy although the enemy brings Kelya Frendul summoner who can increase speed.
A strategy that doesn't work or does not have any effect :
