There has been news spreading that the Splinterlands developers have been selling DEC recently. The whole premise being the selling is bearish is far from the actual effects in my opinion. Instead thinking through how much it really hurts dec price with the current selling I think this is a buying point for dec.

Thanks to @bulldog1205 doing a quick recap of the dec situation. It does appear Splinterlands has been pushing the sell on Dec meanwhile advertising the need for it to be at parity. However we had seen multiple controversial decisions made by Splinterlands over the years and every time the outcome has been positive. Even for those that resulted in poor outcome the developers have always reverted or “fixed” the outcome and made investors and players stay.
With that said I have faith in the team to be able to resolve and create a positive outcome from their Dec sale. It’s a bit unfortunate that the team didn’t disclose this openly and transparently. Yet that is why we have the game on a blockchain so transactions can be tracked.

A proposal to go on voting is coming soon regarding the burning of dec and vouchers. For the Splinterlands team to have sold Dec prior to this proposal I personally believe this is one opportunity for players to stash away some dec before it gets to parity. Every time there has been a vote to increase use of Dec it has always resulted in increase prices. We maybe seeing that here and splinterlands team maybe giving us an opportunity to get some dec for the cheap!
Conclusions<\h2>For 2022 people who have invested and followed crypto has been hit hard due to scams and lies. There are countless projects that ruin the founders reputations but worse off lost investor’s hard earned money. Splinterlands through this time has been doing it’s best to weather the down turn. As they did in 2018 and a boom happened afterwards. I believe 2023 will be great for Splinterlands again. Bear markets don’t last forever. Dec concerns are warranted but the overall sentiment for the game as a whole remain optimistically positive.
