It's the biggest day of my splinterlands' journey/career. I got a legendary gold foil level 2 possibilius the wise This card is currently worth $130 and carries a whopping 12,500 collection power. I got a notification that the new airdrop card have been released, firstly, I felt I got the conqueror Jacek and I might not even qualify for even the standard version of the new card but I was wrong. I got the GFL of this new legendary summoner I've never owned a boisterous or expensive card as this and I like to think that I've hustled a lot in the past few months, constantly upgrading my deck, flipping my packs to see whether I might be lucky.
Although, I've fully accepted that I might not get GFL from my packs because I've opened about 110 of the packs I bought last December and so far I've gotten some decent cards but a GFL has eluded me for a very long time. Firstly, I like the fact that it's a summoner because everyone needs summoners to play the game so it means that summoners are bound to hold more value than lose it. Before this drop, I've opened about 3 more packs and got nothing really exciting, it's been frustrating to open these packs lately but I like the fact that even if I've spent some money on the packs, I've won in so many ways.
First, I've earned SPS holding them, I built a deck owning them, and this deck has helped me win games which one the other hands have brought some decent reward in the process. It's been a cyclical process of flipping rewards here and there and even if these wins have not felt significant, I think we can all agree that we love the uncertainty that comes with it. This is not all, I've gotten some decent cards because of buying those packs. The likes of izza the fanged, but all these might not really establish a mindset of gains because of the general dip in the market.
I literally screamed my heart getting this card, I wasn't expecting a GFL anytime soon, but it came up and its collection Power pushed me into gold 3 modern formats, that's how influential a GFL can be. Back to this card, it's a water summoner (my favorite element) with a trample ability, a reach ability, and a +2 health. I checked this ability of this legendary summoner almost immediately and you can almost see the difference. However, I'll like to see how its reach ability would function. The truth is that I wished the reach ability will affect every other card when playing, but I don't think it's so I'll see how it goes. I've managed to also open some packs in the process, maybe in the bid to be two times lucky.
Opening packs has been meh
It's however been disappointing, but it wouldn't matter, I have been happy with this GFL and even if I have about 7 packs to completely zero out all my packs, I don't know, I might just be lucky for one last time again, maybe an epic gold card or another GFL. I think the building process continues. I'm hoping to build a formidable deck in a year from now, I think I've managed to do this gradually irrespective of the limitations of not having enough money to do that. Sometime in October, I decided to start upgrading my water deck, it's taken over 150$ in October, but I stopped when I ran out of funds. However, I'm hoping to continue building my deck.
I haven't given up on splinterlands irrespective of the way the market is plummeting. It's not really just a splinterlands thing. It's the market in general and because I'm hunting for collection Power to stay away from the bronze League in general and this has helped me massively to get this done. I'll completely stay away from bronze modern because of this and unlocking Gold III has been an accomplishment for me. I might not play here so much, but I'll manage to finish in Gold III every time, inevitably avoiding the bronze league. I've seen many people with the standard card of this legendary summoner, it's great to see that I'm amongst one of the people who got one of the gold foil. I'm hoping for more wins.
