On being new at Splinterlands

An eternity ago I decided to join steemit.com and stopped posting there after a while. Somehow I just lost interest and life got in the way as well. Apparently, there was a lot of drama going on over the last few years but I didn't really bother.

Recently, I finally decided to listen to my friend @jaki01 and checked out my old Steemit account. To my surprise and delight I found out that Steemit had been forked and that my account was still equipped with HIVE. Neat! I can't help but wonder whether some of my old followers are still active here. If yes, please let me know. :)

I was told that there would be a new NFT game called Splinterlands on this HIVE blockchain. @jaki01 never stopped talking about it but until recently I never really bothered to check it out. A mistake!

I'm really glad that I finally came around and had a look. But boy, was I confused in the beginning. I know that some kind of documentation exists but let's be honest here: Who really bothers to read a few hundred pages before starting to play a game? I know, I don't.

And so all I did for a while was trying to wrap my head around concepts lik SPS, DEC, Credits, etc. while learning to play the game itself. I like the game very much but, at least for me, it was incredibly complex to understand in the beginning. I have been around for a while now and I still learn about new concepts and new strategies.

I'm planning to share a bit about my journey with this game on here in the near future and I'm eager to learn. See you all soon on the battlefields. ;)
