Fully Purchased Batch 1 of Rarity Draws, Except Commons

We are halfway through our ranked season in Splinterlands, and I decided to make the step and buy the remaining 10 epic draws I was missing from batch 1.

Before taking this screenshot I still needed about 11k Glint to have the necessary 50k for 10 epic draws, but I burned 2 gold common cards one level 9 and one level 8. Initially, I thought I should keep these high-level gold souldbound cards in case I want to unlock and rent them out or sell them at a later date, but in the end, I decided having a maxed regular set is more important, particularly since we don't know the exact details about the unlocking process. So, I'll probably slowly burn them all except the maxed ones (I have one GF common that is maxed).

Burning them gave me more Glint than I expected for commons, even if they were high-level, which is something like 34k. That's nice!

Armed with the Glint from burning the common GFs, I went shopping.

But before that, I made sure to record my progress situation on maxing out the soundbound set. Here is was:

And the situation for each epic card:

My 10 epic draws gave me 9 regulars and 1 GF. Personally, I prefer regulars under the situation, where I am trying to max out the regular set, even though their burn (and potential market) value is lower. So 9 regulars and 1 GF is fine.

That moved the needle by 2% for my progress on maxing regular epics, from 89% to 91%, which is probably pretty good for only 10 draws, one of which was GF, so it doesn't count for that.

And the evolution of epic soulbound reward cards:

Initially, I thought I should turn off the use of alchemy potions for my rarity draws because I only needed to max out regular versions of the cards. But after making some easy calculations (I only calculated for rare draws, but I assume things can't be worse for the higher tiers), you recoup much more Glint by burning the GF card than you pay for an extra draw even on batch 2 for the same rarity, and the cost of the alchemy potion, for example. So, it doesn't really make sense not to use potions (i.e. the alchemy ones) with rarity draws.

So, now it's a waiting game until the end of the season when the shop resets for batch 1 prices. Another half a season to pile up Glint.
