[Crypt Beetle] Share your Battle challenge (1)


First attempt at the Crypt Beetle share your battle challenge, has a mana cost of 3 so I feel starting it off on a low mana battle make sense, its pretty cool since it has shield with such a low mana cost thou.

  • Low HP at 2 which only surviving due to shield but against magic it be screwed

With the enrage ruleset melee units are great to use since they get faster and do more damage when hurt, the number of units are restricted by both the odd only and low mana but it works out well for the team I have in mind.

Team Composition

Role: Summoner

Thaddius Brood chosen for its reduction in HP and magic damage since i plan to use the shield from the crypt beetle as the main tank and its has quite a low hp pool and magic does by pass all its benefits, the reduction in hp help me by allowing for faster kills reducing the pressure the team will face.

Position: Star of the challenge/ Main Tank/ Shield

The star of the challenge crypt beetle with its shield in low mana battles against range and melee units its a mighty force to deal with as anything that does 1 damage will not hurt it making it a good tank in low mana fight since lots of units at low mana do not have much attack power.

Role: Range Damage

Soul Strangler used for the high range damage it deals which help in this low mana battle combined with the summoners hp reduction it should have remove those enemy units fast.

Role: Melee Damage/ Sneak / High Speed

To round off the team slient sha-vi which starts off with a high speed value and once damaged it will become even faster and deal more damage per hit will help clear those pesky backline units to collapse the enemy team from the back.

Now on to the Battle

Round 1


luckily they went with a mostly melee and range damage team with only a singe magic damage unit, saving my crypt beetle from getting wiped early and allowing for it to shine.

the shield on the crypt was put to good work since it ignored the creeping ooze damage while taking only half of the damage dealt by the tree, slient sha-vi which was hit by the sneak magic damage became super charged and hit even harder.

with this round the oppenet lost about half their team while my team is mostly healthy due to the shield taking most of the damage.

Round 2 and Beyond


slient sha-vi after getting the enrage buff gains an even higher dodging ability allowing for it to avoid damage from that sneak attack while the crypt beetle only received 1 point of thorn damage due to the shield and that was absorbed by armor

The match ends in my favor, this match is mostly won due to the strength of the crypt beetle's shield ability and slient sha-vi sneak damage eliminating the stronger back line units early on.

Strategy Talk

Crypt Beetle is great to use in lower mana battles especially if the lost magic rule set is in play making the targets it fight only melee or range units to maximizes its shield ability

an equalizer ruleset is good for the Crypt Beetle since its hp value is quite low and having more hp is great as shield halves the melee or range damage taken.

Ruleset that benefit the Crypt Beetle:
Equalizer - more hp is always nice since its has low hp
Little League - mana restrictions force weaker units out so it benefits
Armored up - having more does not hurt with shield making it last longer
Lost Magic - no magic units to maximize the shield ability
Up Close and Personal - melee only works for the shield ability
Odd Ones Out - since its an odd mana card
