#GMFRENS

This time I say another hour, another Splinterlands post from me... Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands BATTLE MAGE SECRETS challenge. Today we still have this ODD ONES OUT ruleset as our main theme.

ODD ONES OUT ruleset limits your unit selection that only units with odd mana costs can be picked. The rest which are even mana cost, can not be used at all.

In previous post I have shared Cruel Sethropod as my trump card for ODD ONES OUT ruleset. However it has another question from it, how far I can compete using the schrimp? Well definitely he will be useless in 50 mana cap battle because we can house in bigger tank such as torhillo.

Ok how about under 30? That would be a good question, lets finish ODD ONES OUT using Cruel Sethropod in higher mana cap, shall we?

THE BATTLE

This was a Modern Gold league rank battle, and I was using BLACKRRSANTAN, a scholarship account from bulldog1205 the famous streamer. I used this account mostly to play Brawl for JUICE GUILD. Anyway if you are a diamond league player and looking for a good guild to play competitive brawl, please drop us a message. Let's get back to the main business, here were the rulesets we got:

22 mana cap with all element available, this is a more interesting ruleset than the previous one. There are more alternative we can use, a dragon with life element seems very interesting choice.

However I still go with my choice, the Shrimp, Cruel Sethropod. So here was my line up:

PositionCardAbilityPlan and Strategy
Summoner1 armor, 1 speedOne of the best summoner from Chaos Legion edition. I prefer Kelya Frendul than Quix The Devious because with that limited amount of mana, I do not think anyone will bring a magic attack team. So armor +1 will be crucial buff here.
Main TanknoneIn general this is a regular good for nothing schrimp that you can grill him and turn him into your dinner. However in some occasion his thick armor and heath can be very annoying, especially when you do not have mage and shatter ability. In this battle, I think he will be the star.
SecondReach, Reflection ShieldI said in the previous post that Tide Biter is a bit OP for a 3 mana cost unit and he is for sure. I pick him for the second spot, hopefully the hit power he delivers will make my team push forward faster
ThirdBlood Lust, OpportunityWhen the ruleset for gladius on, Are You not Entertained?, its hard not to bring in any Gladius unit. They are unique, a game changer with their bloodlust ability. I think this battle I might meet another Isgald on their side.
FourthTank Heal, RepairI think overall she is one of the best support unit from Chaos Legion. She heals and repair, a perfect set for a healer. Her only weakness is that she can not attack. She is the perfect pair for Cruel Sethropod for this battle, making a indestructible wall.
FifthFly, SneakFast and furious but not a car race. Bandit is very fast and he could sweep out all opponent backline. It's a hard debate whether to go with Pelacor Bandit or Uraeus, but I think speed will be more crucial here so I choose Bandit.
The LastDodge, PhaseThe last unit and a backline wall. I need to protect my bandit and my Merdaali Guardian from opponent sneak attackers and opportunist attack. I hope he could buy some time before he dies.

let see how things would go...

  • The battle started with both of us buffing up our team and debuffing our opponents.
  • My opponent came with 10 melee damage and 1 magic damage. Combined all they became 11 damage per round.
  • My team had 11 melee damage per round. Our fire power were equal.
  • It's hard to predict what would happen next, because it's a bizzare battle which none of us use buff or debuff although this was a Gold League battle.

image.png

  • It's funny we both lost our chaos agents.

image.png

  • Round 3 started with 4 vs 5 coondition. My side started to gain one step advantage.

image.png

  • Round 4 started with the favor still on my side. I still had one unit advantage.

image.png

  • 4 vs 2 in the start of Round 5. It seemeed my victory almost guaranteed.

  • This was the last round, Good game

CLOSURE AND DISCUSSION

  1. Classical approach in winning the tank battle mostly work well, not 100% but most of the case, the one who win the tank battle will dictate the flow of the battle. In this case, my opponent failed to kill my Cruel Sethropod and this would lead my team to win the battle.

  2. Isgald Vorst definitely one of the favorite gladius unit here.

  3. Whether we have Cruel Sethropod or not, Water Team indeed is strong in ODD ONES OUT ruleset.

ok that's for this post, thank you for visiting my post and feel free to leave any comment below.
