Card First Impressions

Beatrix Ironhand is a 6 cost card with 5 health and 4 speed. 2 ranged attack and short range at lvl 1. It's a very fast card at lvl 1, and can dodge many hits. Likely meant to dodge melee and ranged blows, additionally being a short range creature allows her to avoid thorns damage from the notorious Mylor Crowling. In fact Beatrix gets thorn at higher lvls. Making her an excellent anti melee ranged creature in any position. Overall I get the impression that Beatrix works rather well in the earth splinter. Especially if one has ranged buffs etc. one of the few cards that works well in ANY position.

Strategy and Placement

As you can see in this lineup here I have put my Beatrix in 3rd position. Beatrix is one of the rare cards that works in ANY position. She is well rounded and offers thorns at higher levels. In this particular case she was placed in third so she could be sandwiched between the brownie and furious chicken. Protecting her from 1 hit of snipe or sneak. To top everything off Mylor allowed the use of thorns for the entire lineup. That coupled with tank heal on flesh golem and void on the opponent's unicorn not being valid leads to less protection than expected for the dragons this time.

Making short work of the Unicorn and furious chicken. Bringing the enemy ranged units to the front of the lineup for a swift victory.

In this case Beatrix did not reach the front line, but if she had it would've not been the end unlike with the enemy ranged backline.

Conclusion and Talking Tidbits

Overall a valuable card for the splinter and a useful ranged attack in ANY position Beatrix Itonhand will continue to see play from me. Useful in most rulesets and very flexible. Not many cons to this card. Solid stats delivered in a versatile package.
