Pizza Brawl Highlights 4: Chaos Brawls Unleashed

This was the first brawl undergone since the release of Chaos Legion, the meta indeed has changed since then. Bit by bit players are utilizing newer cards with old strategic combos. In the fights located below it is in fact Untamed only, but now the modern format supports the TWO sets in brawl frays. I utilize Gladius cards in every brawl fight (here, here, here, here, and here) score 4-1 (wins/losses). I will be highlighting one fight I thought was particularly odd and utilized a Gladius card I hadn't used before , Helmet Kharafax. The battle below is the highlight from the following set of brawl fights.

The Pacifist Scavenger Salvages Victory: Gladius Fight

In the fight here I use a gladiator card that has NO attack or retaliation whatsoever. This means bloodlust will not be triggered on this blood lust card. Despite this, Helmet and his scavenge ability leads him to victory in this battle.

The earthquake ruleset benefits my flying creatures, and all of the enemy is damaged turn by turn. The enemy also it utilizing a gladiator card Palidon Rakk (a mighty earth tank able to take an immense beating). In this fight I outlast the enemy by only ONE turn, and it also displays the curious nature of the pacifist gladiator card Helmet Kharafax.

As you can see in the battle Helmet was placed in position 3 as a spacer. This also allows time for some units to die to feed his health pool, and this is the only reason he survives until the ultimate (and lethal) pass of earthquake damage. The enemy played well and the anti-armor summoner negated the effectiveness of my Truthspeaker card. Well played, and an interesting fight to behold. Their Gladiator card almost won due to sheer health and attack, but in the end perished to the ruleset.

Talking Tidbits and Giveaway

According to the lore, Helmet Kharafax is an exotic game hunter and the son of a poet. Now he's trying his hand at being a gladiator. This card itself has NO kill potential until much higher levels, but is a very interesting compliment to anyone's gladiator deck. I look forward to seeing more play with this card in particular (or any gladius card without a standard attack).
