The Story of Doc BL8

I was sketching a new Doctor Blight for the art contest and finished with a colorful, post-apocalyptic version. While I was drawing, I come up with a story, something I just wanted to be a fan-fiction side story. I'm sharing the art and the story, have fun reading it.

The Rise of Doc BL8

After all that chaos, war, and blood, everything seemed to be cool nowadays. At least for him, in his heart. He learned to calm the voice down, first tricked it, and then worked his way. Extracted some very precious thoughts buried deep inside his soul and worked on them. The Post-Chaos Pretoria was a mess, and he did some horrible stuff to accelerate that in the past. Now the peace wouldn’t come cheap, but he managed to stay sane by mixing a few chemicals in the filtered air he’s inhaling. As a doctor it was no big deal, making an extract to heal himself. The real problem was to overcome the voice and use it without Silas noticing that.

So, one day he was torturing a magician they apprehended in the forest. He already had that mixture that suppresses the magic. His servants used it on the magician with injections and make him drink it. Doctor Blight entered the room and started talking to the magician. At one point he just ordered his servants to leave the room. He enjoyed showing his face to the enslaved ones who will be prosecuted in seconds, cause his face would be the last face they would ever see again. He removed his mask and go near the magician’s face. The old magician didn’t seem to be impressed nor scared, that old hag! Then the magician blew his breath to his face, because of the magic suppresser he just digested, his breath was infused with that. Doctor Blight killed the magician instantly. Then he realized that the voice has stopped. He knew that this won’t take long. He forcibly put on his mask, tried to stop his shaking. Then he realized that this magic-suppresser would be his way out. Although he realized that happened because of the magic suppressor, it’s impossible to take more of that vial without killing oneself. He needed a plan. The voice would never let him take that vial willingly! He shouted to his most loyal servant. Gave her this suppresser, without telling her the contents and told her to use this vial slowly if he would ever get hurt or sick, no questions asked, and warned her not to tell anyone about this. Then he wrote himself a note saying to find his nemesis at all costs because they have something to kill Silas! Then he drink a forgetting vial, and lost his thoughts on this matter!

After he got conscious his mind is filled with the voice again. He saw the magician’s corpse and the note. After reading the note, Silas ordered him to gather his forces and attack his nemesis.

The fight was vicious but he couldn’t fight at his best or maybe he doesn’t want to win against her! She outsmarted him and before she ended him, one of his servants sacrificed itself so the others took him away from the battlefield. While he was lying unconscious in his bed, the servant with the potion gave him that vial day by day.

One day, miraculously, he woke up and there was no voice there, clear! It seems his face and most of his body were in unrepairable damage, so he designed a life support mask and a suit for himself, having some style taken from his previous one. Then he prepared himself for the next chapter. What he will do is to restore peace on all Praetoria, and he wanted to do it in a colorful way! He thought that dress thing is so dumb at first but it grew on him in time. And the name; he was not Alastair nor Doctor Blight, but now he is Doc BL8.

One by one he talked with his rivals, the last protectors of the land, some of them didn’t go well but eventually, everything seemed to be ok in time. Now he wants to talk to his biggest nemesis. He meet with her in the Blue Harbor (that is not blue anymore but dark and chaotic) where everything started! He said: “Welcome warrior, it’s been a long time!”
