Welcome Guys!

tutorial how to level cards.png

I have some thougths what really new players have problem with, when they start their journey with Splinterlands. Many players, which I meet over the past years told me that they don't know how to deal with the blockchain and card leveling thing. This should be no problem any longer, if you will ever see my tutorial!

First of all you need to know how blockchain works, leveling up cards is a simple transaction on the hive blockchain, which means to deal with that you need to have enough resource credits to make transaction. You will tell me now ok Atnazo, but how to know, if I have enough resource credits in short rc to make a transaction? New account on hive can make few transactions per day. If you transfer some funds from the exchange or when you list card for sell - everything discharge your resource credits. To have enough rc, you need stake your hive into hive power, get delegation hive power in short hp or get delegated some rc. Usually 15 hp in enough to manage account with many transactions on the blockchain, when you manage cards on peakmonsters. I was a whale years ago, when I had over 70k cards and 15 hp was not enough to manage that. I was in need to stake over 500 hive to have enough rc to operate on the blockchain, but forget about my example - more cards you have more rc you need to operate with them.

How to check how many rc I have?

Peakmonsters site: https://peakmonsters.com/

When you are logged in, you see your percentage resource credits charge level.

image.png

As you see I have 100% regenerated rc, so I can do without any problems many transactions on the blockchain.

There are few ways how to check how many resource credits you have right now.

You can really easy check your current rc with peakd site: https://peakd.com/

Just click on your avatar and then check your green thunder status like on the picture below.

When you familiar with blogging, you can check your rc with other tools on the blockchain using this site: https://hive-now.com/@atnazo

image.png

As you see I have 100% and over 43 Billions Resource Credits.

splinterlands logo text2.png

Resource Credits regenerate every day.

When you have hive staked your rc just regenerate every day. So when you discharge some of them, they regenerate back. More hive power(hp) more you can regenerate daily. I don't remember exactly, if this is 20% or 25% of your total rc daily, but this is a lot. Making transaction on hive blockchain cost you only resource credits, so first thing you should think about is getting some hive power.

You can create new hive account with your rc.

Another thing to admit, when you have about 5k hp you have enough rc to create account on hive. Then you can just wait few days and make another one! You will get account creation token.

image.png

image.png

I get 1 account creation token in exchange for about ~30% of my current rc.

image.png

image.png

I have much more than 5k hp right now, that's why it not take all of my rc. Anyway making account on have requires a big hive stake, but is good from time to time claim some account creation tokens for your rc, if you can. If I be in need to create another hive account I can use any of my creation hive account token in any time to generate set of keys with new hive username.

How to stake some hive?

So you know that you need have hive and then stake them into hive power, to be able to have bigger limit of your rc.

Simple way is to use peakd site and power up your liquid hive.

Additional benefits from staking hive is have bigger influence on the platform your upvote get more value! I made big power up 8 days ago.

image.png

This is the process just put all in the stake let's go!

image.png

I decided to power up 17k hive. So now I can even create hive account with my rc :) and my upvote just rise to almost 0.2$ with my own and delegated to my hive power of over 25k!

How to level up cards in Splinterlands?

Now you know how to power up some hive, how rc works so now is time to show you how to level up cards in Splinterlands. You can use Splinterlands site or Peakmonsters. Usually new cards show first in Splinterlads site, then after some delay with 3 party sites like PKM.

You need navigate to items

image.png

Now you will see your whole collection.

image.png

Chose card, which you want to level up. You will need at least 2 copy of this card - 2 BCX.

image.png

I have now 6 BCX of Giant Alpine Skink for level 2 I need 5 BCX in total. So I need to combine 5 cards into 1 to be able to advance to level 2.

image.png

If you don't know how many single BCX you need to desired level, just check stats tab. You will get all information about your card and future progress.

image.png

As you see my card will get 1 more attack, which is really great news for me. From 3 attack to 4 attack!

Let's back to cards tab and select cards, which you want to combine for higher level.

image.png

Now you just need click button combine cards

image.png

You will get redirected to leveling process.

image.png

Ohh I need 5 cards selected in total, so let's back to select one more!

image.png

Ok, 5 cards selected and you see that my card should advance to level 2 after this process.

Sometimes transactions stuck in, so you just need wait a little bit more.

image.png

I will check after 1 min, if my transaction goes through. If not I will send another one :)

Sometimes node, which you use in keychain is down or have really big delay, which cause problems with transactions.

But, there was no need to send it once again.
After refresh I see my leveled card.

image.png

Now card is ready for battle, are you ready to dominate with your pretty new leveled card? ;)
