Being a Splinterlands Player
A little less than two and a half years ago I began my journey on Splinterlands.
After buying the Summoner's Spellbook for just under 12 euros, I immediately started playing my first matches and I still remember how, after only a few days, I was already able to make my first purchase in the game: Demented Shark.
It was probably my first ever NFT, and, in any case, being able to buy it through in-game rewards alone was a major accomplishment and unmistakable proof of the potential of play2earn games, of which Splinterlands is one of the greatest exponents.
The Struggle in the Bronze League
For many, many months I struggled and suffered in the Bronze League, keeping accumulating card after card and trying to increase more and more my Collection Power, the value that, at the time, ruled access to the highest Leagues.
Playing in the Bronze League was a tough and often frustrating experience, partly because at the time there wasn't any way to avoid bots, so most matches were monotonous, predictable, and very unfun.
It was only after a long time and a few lucky shots with some referrals that I was finally able to move into the Silver League, where things, partly due to the greater variety and presence of rulesets, improved dramatically.
The Experience on NFTY Arcade
In the meantime, I also began to explore more deeply many of the platforms that revolve around the world of Splinterlands, coming across, among others, NFTY Arcade, a site that allows you to rent decks provided by other users in exchange for giving up part of the rewards we will get by playing with those cards: a very good deal considering that, thanks to some very competitive decks, I even managed to land in the Champion League, getting many rewards and being able to try the game to its full potential.
The Entry into the EDSF Guild
In the same period I joined a very active and all-Italian Guild, founded by @mad-runner and run with the help of @libertycrypto27: here I was able to refine more and more my gaming skills, getting a large number of Gladius cards and plenty of stuff to write many reports about the feats accomplished by our group.
To this day, brawls are still my favorite part of this game, and I hope one day to see my beloved Guild move into Tier III, to test its skills against even stronger opponents, in exchange for even more enticing rewards!
Archmage
After almost two years of playing, however, due to the decreasing availability of time and Splinterlands' tolerance of bots - only recently banned from a part og the game - I took the difficult decision to purchase an Archmage bot token and let this one play for me in the Wild format.
This does not mean that I have stopped believing in Splinterlands, on which I have indeed continued to accumulate more and more assets: currently my collection is worth about $200 and similarly are the SPS I have set aside.
In total, those few euros spent two and a half years ago today have turned into more than $400, to which one day will probably have to be added the value of all the Soulbounds cards I own: surely the commitment and time I put into the game have been generous, but thanks to Splinterlands I also discovered Hive, so I cannot but be extremely happy with the choice I made at the time, choosing to become and be a Splinterlands player!

Essere un Giocatore di Splinterlands
Poco meno di due anni e mezzo fa ho iniziato il mio viaggio su Splinterlands.
Dopo aver comprato il Summoner's Spellbook per poco meno di 12 euro, ho subito iniziato a giocare le prime partite e ricordo ancora oggi come, dopo pochi giorni, fossi già in grado di compiere il mio primo acquisto sul gioco: Demented Shark.
Probabilmente si è trattato del mio primo NFT in assoluto e, in ogni caso, essere riuscito ad acquistarlo grazie solamente ai premi ottenuti in game fu una soddisfazione enorme e la prova inequivocabile del potenziale dei giochi play2earn, di cui Splinterlands è uno dei massimi rappresentanti.
La Sofferenza nella Lega Bronzo
Per tanti, tantissimi mesi ho lottato e sofferto nella Lega Bronzo, continuando ad accumulare carta su carta e cercando di aumentare sempre più il mio Collection Power, il valore che, all'epoca, regolava l'accesso alle Leghe più alte.
Giocare nella Lega Bronzo è stata un'esperienza dura e spesso frustrante, anche perchè all'epoca non c'era alcun modo di evitare i bot, per cui la maggior parte delle partite erano monotone, prevedibili e molto poco divertenti.
Solo dopo molto tempo ed ad alcuni colpi di fortuna con dei referrals sono finalmente riuscito a passare nella Lega Argento, dove le cose, grazie anche alla maggior varietà e presenza di rulesets, sono nettamente migliorate.
L'Esperienza su NFTY Arcade
Nel mentre ho cominciato anche ad esplorare più a fondo molte delle piattaforme che ruotano intorno al mondo di Splinterlands, imbattendomi, fra le varie, in NFTY Arcade, un sito che consente di noleggiare decks messi a disposizione da altri utenti in cambio di una rinuncia a parte delle ricompense che otterremo giocando con quelle carte: un ottimo affare considerando che, grazie a decks molto competitivi, riuscii addirittura ad approdare nella Lega Campione, ottenendo numerose ricompense e potendo così provare il gioco in tutto il suo potenziale.
L'Ingresso nella Gilda EDSF
Nello stesso periodo sono entrato a far parte di una Gilda molto attiva e tutta italiana, fondata da @mad-runner e gestita con l'aiuto di @libertycrypto27: qui ho potuto affinare sempre più le mie abilità di gioco, ottenendo un gran numero di carte Gladius e materiale per scrivere numerosi report sulle imprese compiute dal nostro gruppo.
Tutt'ora le brawls rappresentano la parte che mi piace di più di questo gioco e spero un giorno di vedere la mia amata Gilda passare nel Tier III, per mettere alla prova le sue abilità contro avversari ancora più forti, in cambio di ricompense ancora più allettanti!
Archmage
Dopo quasi due anni di gioco, tuttavia, causa la sempre minor disponibilità di tempo e la tolleranza di Splinterlands verso i bot - solo poco tempo dopo bannati da parte del matchmaking - ho preso la difficile decisione di acquistare un token del bot Archmage e lasciare giocare questo al mio posto nel formato Wild.
Ciò non significa che abbia smesso di credere in Splinterlands, sul quale ho anzi continuato ad accumulare sempre più assets: attualmente la mia collezione vale circa 200 dollari e altrettanto valgono gli SPS che ho da parte.
In totale quei pochi euro spesi due anni e mezzo fa oggi sono diventati oltre 400 dollari, a cui un giorno probabilmente andrà aggiunto il valore di tutte le carte Soulbounds che possiedo: sicuramente l'impegno ed il tempo che ho dedicato al gioco sono stati abbondanti, ma grazie a Splinterlands ho anche scoperto Hive, per cui non posso che essere estremamente contento della scelta che feci all'epoca, decidendo di diventare ed essere un giocatore di Splinterlands!
