Hi everyone! It's time for the a weekly battle challenge, and the challenge for this week is the Cruel Sethropod.
About the Monster
Cruel Sethropod
Cruel Sethropod is a common card with a decent tanking stats. It has 3 Shields and 4 Health at level 1. It doesn't get any abilities as it levels up. However, it's a great tanking card to use for low mana fights and the Little League ruleset, as it's stats are pretty good for the 3 mana cost.
Ruleset
Equalizer: The initial health of all the Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base health
Only the Water, Earth, Death and Dragon Splinters can be used
Mana Cap: 12

Strategy
The strategy was to use the Cruel Sethropod and Torrent Fiend (along with the added Shield from Kelya Fendul) to absorb the initial damage, and to make use of the Spirit Hoarder and Ice Pixie to met out damage. The Equalizer ruleset will also increase the health of all the Monsters, improving survivability from backline or Opportunity attacks. The Spirit Hoarder will also be able to heal damage taken from the backline. I was a little frustrated with the heals of the opponent's Xenith Monk and the misses from the Cruel Sethropod, and the battle took way longer than necessary. I was also lucky to take out the opponent's Xenith Monk before the Torrent Fiend was killed off. I would have otherwise lost.
Thoughts on the card
I like the Cruel Sethropod, as it has good stats to be the main tank for low mana fights.
