Hello and welcome to my new post for my entry in the Splinterlands Fan Art Challenge!
The character I chose to draw this week is Endless Ape, who belongs to the Earth Element.
First, I drew a shape to use for the outline.
After drawing the shape, I added details to make my drawing look like an ape.
Next, I added Endless Ape’s clothing to my drawing to make them look alike.
I also drew a kind of boom effect in the background because I will be adding a halftone effect to it later.
After that, I darkened the outline and refined it because this will be my final outline for the artwork.
Next, I started coloring with the main colors I will use for my character. The character I am drawing mostly uses shades of gray.
After indicating the colors, I began shading. For shading, I used different darker and lighter shades, using around 4-5 colors per tone.
I added a bit of halftone effect to the character but kept the circles small.
Next is the background. For the base background, I colored it brown, then added a halftone effect in cream on top.
I colored the inside of the boom effect with a gradient of yellow and orange, then overlaid it with halftone patterns of different sizes.
I also decided to add the name “Endless Ape” to my art, so I created a simple name using an action font.
Here is my final piece.
