IS THE WAKA SPIRITBLADE HYPE OVER?

The phase 2 sale of Waka Spiritblade has come and gone, and there are still plenty on the shelves for the original list price.

There are several factors for this.

The first is that many have gotten their fill with Waka, either renting him or getting delegated the card. It seems to be strong in lower leagues and mana caps but struggles when you get to higher leagues and mana caps. The monster abilities and options offer a lot of defense.

The second part, and this might be bigger than many expect, is that Atomic Hub created too big of a barrier. There were many people on discord struggling to figure out how to buy WAX and get enough funds over. I'm sure many gave up and figured they could get it at a later time or on the SL secondary market.

Either way, this card is the first of it's kind and will retain a collectable value over the long run. I'm not saying the price will go down further or spike up, just that it is the first promo card partnership that Splinterlands has had with a major influencer. And yes, poison is cool and who knows if there is a change in meta down the line that could make Waka amazing!
