Un año que termina,
lleno de altibajos;
un año que finaliza
con bien para algunos,
con mal para otros.
Un año que fue un bello sueño,
quizás el más dulce de todos;
un año que fue una terrible pesadilla,
quizás el más pésimo de todos.
Y heme aquí, escribiendo estas líneas
en la mañana del 31 de diciembre,
con situaciones inesperadas
y sentimientos encontrados.
Heme aquí, escribiendo estas líneas
con la esperanza de que el 2024
empiece con buen pie y
que todo mejore.
Ruego a Dios, a los santos,
a los antiguos dioses, a
la divinidad entera
paz, salud, prosperidad, felicidad.
Ruego a la divinidad que
empecemos todos con energía,
buenos ánimos, y buena suerte
en medio de un mundo incierto.
Adiós 2023,
adiós y gracias
por cada una de las lecciones
que me enseñaste en el camino.

A year that ends,
full of ups and downs;
a year that ends
well for some,
bad for others.
A year that was a beautiful dream,
perhaps the sweetest;
a year that was a horrible nightmare,
perhaps the worst.
Here I am, writing these lines
in the morning of December 31st,
with unexpected situations
and mixed feelings.
Here I am, writing these lines
with the hope that 2024
begins with good standing
and that everything get better.
I pray to God, to the saints,
to the old gods, to
the entire divinity
peace, health, prosperity, happiness.
I pray to the divinity that
we all start with energy,
good spirits, and good luck
in the midst of an uncertain world.
Goodbye, 2023,
goodbye and thank you
for each lesson
you thaught me along the way.
Espero que este 2024 sea un año en donde todos los sueños y esperanzas de cada unos de nosotros se cumplan. A modo personal, el 2023 no ha sido un año muy bueno, pero tampoco ha sido tan malo (a excepción de los últimos días, por el estado de salud de mi madre). Sin embargo, soy optimista y tengo la fe de que este año próximo a empezar sea un año mejor que este, al menos en el ámbito personal y de la salud.
¡Nos vemos en enero!
I hope this 2024 may be a year where all dreams and hopes of each of us will be fulfilled. Personally, 2023 hasn't been a very good year, but it hasn't a bad year either (except for the last few days, due to my mother's health condition). However, I'm optimistic and I have faith that this next year will be a better year than this one, at least on a personal and health level.
