The Made in Taadi carnival is an annual cultural festival held in Takoradi, a city in the Western Region of Ghana. Takoradi is also known as the twin city as it shares the position of capital city with Sekondi. Sekondi is the administrative capital of the region whiles Takoradi is the economic capital of the Western Region. Taadi is a short form of Takoradi so essentially, the carnival is, "Made in Takoradi" carnival. The carnival showcases the rich cultural heritage of the people of Takoradi and the Western Region, and it is a celebration of the creativity and innovation of the people of the region.

Masquerades wearing masks and brightly coloured dresses perform at the carnival. At first glance, the mask of the masquerade may appear to be a mere decorative piece, with its bright colours and intricate designs. However, it is much more than that. The mask serves as a symbolic representation of the spirit being portrayed by the performer. It is believed that the mask has the power to transform the performer into the spirit being and convey its essence to the audience.
The mask also serves as a form of protection for the performer. It shields their identity and allows them to fully embody the spirit being without any external distractions. This anonymity allows for complete immersion into the performance, enabling the performer to connect more deeply with the audience.
The mask also plays an important role in maintaining cultural identity and preserving tradition. Each mask is unique and reflects the history, beliefs, and values of the people who created it. The intricate designs and patterns woven into the mask serve as a visual representation of the community's cultural heritage.
