"Mamá, no quiero cumplir 15 años" gritó Martina, mientras se iba llorando al corredor de la casa. En la Morita todos hablaban del tema. "Que Diosito proteja a la niña Martina", "yo sé lo que es eso", "será una noche larga para esos pobre viejos".
En el caserío solo se hablaba de ella. Sabían que Martina cumpliría 15 años en la noche de luna llena y por todos era conocida la leyenda.
De generación en generación se había vivido la experiencia de luna llena. Cada vez que una señorita cumplía 15 años en la noche de luna llena, desaparecía. Al principio lo atribuyeron a escapatorias con los novios y pretendientes, pero poco a poco fueron notando rastros, luego hubo enfrentamientos y se comprendió que todo era culpa del Salvaje.
El Salvaje es un ser mitad hombre, mitad oso que en la noche de luna llena, cuando alguna señorita cumple 15 años, llega a los caseríos y se las lleva a vivir con él. Le han disparado, quemado y hasta exorcismos han practicado y nunca habían podido detenerlo, hasta que un sacerdote que estuvo en el pueblo, el padre Juan Matías, se inventó poner en las entradas de las viviendas, bosta fresca, olor que confundía al Salvaje, permitiéndoles ganar tiempo para que la luz del día lo ahuyentara.
De los inventos hechos, era el que alguna vez sirvió, por eso la familia de Martina se preparó durante el día. Se equiparon de los alrededores. Guardaron gasoil y algunas lámparas, pusieron música a todo volumen, hasta que cayó la tarde y la tensión poco a poco, como la noche, los fue dominando.
El transcurrir de los minutos hacia que cada sonido elevara la tensión, porque algunos aseguraban ver una sombra cerca de la casa, otros que un sonido de bestia estaba al acecho. Cada uno veía, escuchaba, olía o percibía la presencia de algo, al que todos llamaban Salvaje. Tanta tensión llevó a que algunos se relajaran y fue en ese momentos cuando todo cambió.
"¡Papá!" fue el último grito de Martina. Todos en la casa comenzaron a llorar, cuando notaron como el Salvaje entró por la ventana lateral y derribando a los cinco hombres que allí estaban, tomó a Martina y se perdió en la oscuridad.
Nota: Relato construido desde la tradición oral, donde se habla del Salvaje y hoy, gracias a las investigaciones y estudios, sabemos que hacen referencia a la existencia del oso frontino.
El Salvaje (Legend)

They have shot him, burned him and even practiced exorcisms and they had never been able to stop him, until a priest who was in the town, Father Juan Matías, invented to put fresh dung at the entrances of the houses, a smell that confused the Savage, allowing them to gain time for the daylight to drive him away.
Of all the inventions made, it was the one that ever worked, so Martina's family prepared themselves during the day. They equipped themselves from the surrounding area. They kept gas oil and some lamps, played music at full volume, until the afternoon fell and the tension gradually, like the night, dominated them.
The passing of the minutes made every sound raise the tension, because some claimed to see a shadow near the house, others that a beast sound was lurking. Each one saw, heard, smelled or perceived the presence of something, which they all called Wild. So much tension led some to relax and it was at that moment that everything changed.
"Papa!" was Martina's last cry. Everyone in the house began to cry, when they noticed how the Savage entered through the side window and knocking down the five men who were there, grabbed Martina and was lost in the darkness.
Note: This story is based on oral tradition, where the Salvaje is mentioned and today, thanks to research and studies, we know that it refers to the existence of the spectacled bear.
