Acre, sea, walls, people - black and white photo series.

Some time ago my friend asked me if i can help him in some personal project, for which he already worked few years. The project was a Historical Fiction book, which my friend started writing 20 years ago. The text was already finished, and my friend wanted some visuals as an illustrations for the narrative.
And due to the location of the happening in this book was the whole country, we spent a few weekends, drove to the locations, mentioned in the story, and i photographed the historical places for the book.
It was very interesting days of the kind of adventure, to which we plunged headlong. He told me the parts of his book connected to the specific places of each our visit. These trips also were rich by the culinary "testing" of the different kitchens of the different parts of the country.

And today my series is about the visit of the Acre sea shore. The location of the city is very special because it is "sitting in a natural harbour at the extremity of Haifa Bay on the coast of the Mediterranean's Levantine Sea".

This city had different names during the 5000 years of existing -
Aak by Ancient Egyptians, Akka by Akkadians in the mid-14th century BC, Akē by Greeks, then Ptolemaïs, Antioch, Germanicia in Ptolemais, Sainct-Jehan-d'Acre.
The most beautiful parts of Acre were for me the old city built during the Byzantine period and the sea side - the amazing huge natural harbour. So, today my photography is about the harbour .

And again the small part of the island zoomed in, seems like its a small still working lighthouse:

Very attractive tourist service.

People relaxing in the water in the middle of the harbor - you can see them in micro :
