Tengo que explicar que mi ambiente social y natural donde vivo es agropecuario y pesquero. Acá, en Caicara del Orinoco. Durante un año en la orilla del Orinoco por las tardes, cuando salgo a caminar y tomar fotografías del paisaje, he visto cómo una yegua parió un potrillo. Esta yegua con otros caballos siempre la encuentro. Todas las tardes están por allí merodeando en este lugar. Les he tomado varias fotografías. Pero, recientemente, he sentido un giro en las visitas que hago. El potrillo ha crecido, tiene un año de edad aproximadamente. Constantemente, la madre está relinchando y el pequeño regresa galopeando al llamado de su madre. Esta semana que transcurrió, me acerqué para tomarles unas fotografías. Para proteger a su cría, se me acercó, de forma embestida, para alejarme de su lugar donde pastaban.

The mare is very protective of her foal. She will defend her foal from any perceived threat, be it another animal, a human or even a foreign object.
