La libertad nos permite forjar nuestra percepción de la vida, tal cual nosotros la queramos, a desarrollarnos a plenitud, a tener una conciencia de lo que queremos y cómo lo queremos, nos da licencia de comunicarnos, actuar, discernir, disentir y sentir según nuestra conciencia nos dicte.

La libertad se ejerce bajo nuestra voluntad, sin nada que nos obligue o nos coaccione, ni externamente, ni internamente, sólo la conciencia nos dicta los actos que llevaremos a cabo y estos se hacen con libertad, sólo y sólo sí lo hacemos por decisión propia.
A veces pensamos que por ser pareja tenemos que compartirlo todo, pues no, todo tiene que tener un equilibrio, ya que al ejercer nuestra libertad individual de manera radical, ya que a veces tomamos decisiones de manera individual y estas arrastran a la pareja a ajustarse a la que nosotros queremos , no a lo que ellas quieren y bajo esos cánones, perdemos los objetivos y metas en común, y eso a su vez genera distanciamiento; en el caso de querer compartirlo todo, tampoco es bueno , ya que esto agobia y coarta la libertad que queremos para nosotros, es por eso que es importantísimo tener espacios propios, para lograr un equilibrio justo, para disfrutar de estar juntos o disfrutarnos a nosotros mismos en soledad sin coacción y opresión por parte de los otros.
