Por una o muchas razones, los seres humanos enfrentamos situaciones que nos hacen sufrir; es casi imposible no sufrir por aquellos eventos que afectan nuestras emociones; la pérdida de un ser querido, divorcio, pérdida de un empleo, fracaso en los emprendimientos, entre otras situaciones pueden ser causa de sufrimiento; ante las adversidades que enfrentamos es común sufrir; como seres emocionales y cargados de sentimientos lloramos, nos sentimos tristes y buscamos la forma de drenar aquello que nos hace sufrir con el objetivo de hacer más llevadera la situación y soltar poco a poco el dolor y el sufrimiento, considero que en este punto lo importante es no sucumbir ante la situación que nos hace sufrir y dejar que nos domine porque seríamos presa fácil de la depresión.
La inesperada partida de mi padre es una de las etapas más dura que he enfrentado y aún sufro por su ausencia, especialmente en las Navidad que era su temporada favorita, debo admitir que no ha sido fácil he tenido muchas caídas y bajones emocionales, pero lo importante es levantarse y continuar, aunque él no está, los momentos buenos y no tan buenos que compartimos los guardo con mucho amor y me reconfortan cuando mi ánimo decae.
La actitud con la asumimos el sufrimiento va a ser determinante para nuestras vidas, si decido echarme al abandono y dejar que la situación me domine mi vida será un constante sufrimiento, si por el contrario no me dejo abatir y aún rota por la situación decido avanzar y ver más allá del sufrimiento, habrá un nuevo día con el sol radiante brindando nuevas oportunidades para seguir adelante a pesar de las circunstancias.

La abuela de una amiga muy querida, fue un gran ejemplo de valentía, fortaleza y determinación frente al sufrimiento, le diagnosticaron cáncer y decidió no hacer ningún tratamiento, estaba convencida que si se sometía a estas "cosas modernas" como solía llamar a la quimioterapia su salud empeoraría mucho más rápido, su familia respetó su decisión y vivió más de 25 años luego del diagnóstico, recibió el cuidado y apoyo de sus hijos y nietos, pero lo realmente admirable era su actitud frente a la realidad que vivía, siempre positiva, entusiasta y agradecida con Dios por estar con su familia, poder caminar, comer y disfrutar los regalos de la vida sin estar internada en un hospital.
La fortaleza de la señora Carmen era admirable, quienes la visitaban y querían consolarla por su estado de salud y avance de la enfermedad salían fortalecidos por las palabras y actitud ante la adversidad de esta valiente abuela, además su fe y las ganas de vivir le permitieron a pesar de la situación llevar una vida plena y alegre, hasta sus últimos días se mantuvo firme, "así como el dolor llega tiene que irse" era su frase favorita cuando no tenía los mejores días y la enfermedad avanzaba.
