Durante mi feliz niñez con mis primas y primos como fieles compañeros, hubo 2 juegos que eran infaltables casi a diario cuando en casa solíamos desplazarnos por todo el patio luego de hacer las tareas de la escuela y estos eran: El palito mantequillero y el tocaito.

During my happy childhood with my cousins ​​as faithful companions, there were 2 games that were inevitable almost daily when at home we used to move around the yard after doing school homework and these were: The butter stick and the touch.

El palito mantequillero , consistía en buscar por el patio un palito común y silvestre y determinarlo ante todos los participantes en el juego como "el palito mantequillero oficial del mismo", entonces hacíamos como una competencia de carreras y quién llegará de último lugar, le correspondería contar hasta 20 o 30 con el palito en la mano, mientras todos los demás nos escondíamos.

Una vez que quien contaba terminaba de hacerlo, salía a buscar uno a uno cada participante en sus escondites diciendo la popular frase:

"Palito mantequillero, al que encuentre le echo cuero....."

Y así era literalmente, cada vez que quien tenía el palito mantequillero en su poder descubría en su escondite a algún Participante, este le echaba cuero con el referido palo, como decimos en mi localidad, o le pegaba con el mismo para ser más exacta; el chiste era no dejarse encontrar, ni pegar tampoco jajaja y así sucesivamente hasta encontrar a todos y al último encontrado, le correspondería contar en la próxima tanda y así sucesivamente.

El otro juego muy divertido también era "El tocaito" que consistía en alguien escogido al azar o por perder una competencia de carreras, le correspondía perseguir a los participantes en una carrera de un extremo a otro, extremos en el que quedaba a salvo; pero si en el trayecto de la carrera era "tocado" por el participante escogido, debía quedar paralizado ahí en el sitio donde fue tocado y solo podía ser liberado por el toque de otro participante.

Lo divertido del juego radicaba en salir a provocar constantemente al tocador, incitandolo a correr detrás de nosotros para paralizarnos y a su vez, descuidarlo para que otros compañeros pudieran liberar a otros "tocaitos" ya paralizados.
