HashKings Update: Liquidity Improvement Plan

Greetings farmers! I know I haven’t posted in a while, but there’s been a lot going on in the background. Although the Great Fire has simmered down a bit, the Great Flood continues, and a lot has been going on in the background to meet the subsequent demand for seeds.

Those active in the HashKings Discord already know to reach out to wagginston if they’ve got a problem with empty farmland. For Africa and Asia, sales are always conducted OTC style via DM so as to avoid the seeds being poached by speculators. Cheaper seeds that are less in demand are listed on NFTMart for sale for BUDS, at prices ranging from 25-50% of their production value (very cheap).

Meanwhile, we continue to give seeds away for free to members of our Scholarship Program. We are still giving away free seeds to people, but it’s getting more competitive and we’re getting stricter about wanting our students to earn Scholarship Points. We are also experimenting with freely lending farmland to scholars, and once all remaining kinks are worked out of the rental system, we hope to do this for all students.

The HashKings developers themselves have been hard at work on new gameplay modes to be released in the future that will add elements of skill, which I think has a lot of potential. We’re still waiting and assessing how best to incorporate such things into our Scholarship Program.

Introducing: the HashKings Liquidity Improvement Plan (HLIP)

The health of the economy underpinning the HashKings game will always be a primary concern, however. We continue to maintain buy orders for BUDS and MOTA to help prevent heavy crashes on Tribaldex, which lately have been caused by rising HIVE prices vs USD. Beyond the order books, though, we’re also experimenting with trade pools.

For those new to decentralized finance, trade pools are basically smart contracts that hold an equal value of two different tokens; when you deposit one type of token, it gives you the other type, effectively allowing you to buy and sell.

Our first trade pool was on Fantom, a scalability platform which can function as a sidechain to Ethereum. This allowed the HashKings developers to register BUDS as an ERC-20 token, for which they then created a trade pool on SpiritSwap. This I filled with $10,000 each worth of BUDS and FTM, enabling relatively large trades.

That wasn’t really enough for us, though. Because BUDS was registered as an ERC-20 token, it’s fairly easy to move it to any other Ethereum sidechain, as well. So the developers went ahead and migrated BUDS to the Polygon network, as well, and set up a trade pool on DFYN, which we likewise filled with liquidity.

Next will probably be Binance Smart Chain, and ultimately we hope to connect a wide variety of blockchains in a web with Hive at its center. This is in keeping with the beliefs of both the HashKings and blockchaingaming.com team’s that interoperability is the future. Our final trade pool will be on Ethereum’s Uniswap, where we will drop more liquidity than ever before to satiate the whales, for whom gas fees are peanuts.

Then we’ll try to get all the trade pairs listed on CoinGecko and eventually CoinMarketCap. Whenever anyone asks how to get BUDS, you will be able to just refer them to one of those pages. For now, just keep farming. 🙂
