In the previous article, we talked about the basic concepts of PvP functions such as the UI interface, the turn-based mechanism, and the “tile” – distance unit. If you have not read through the previous article, you can click “here_” so you don’t miss this very useful background information. _

In this article, let’s learn about two concepts that greatly affect the strategy of PvP gameplay: Movement & Attack Range.

  1. MOVEMENT

Movement is the stat that determines the distance the hero can travel in combat.

Units are converted to tiles, and there will be some special terrains that affect the movement of heroes.

In PvP maps, there will be obstacles (rocks, water, holes, …), players will need to recalculate their strategy as it affects the distance a hero can travel in a turn.

Obstacle (Terrain obstacles): Hero cannot pass through such as trees, large bones, stones, etc.

Hollow Terrain: Only heroes with Wings can travel through

Pond Terrain: Heroes have wings that can fly over. Walking characters will take 1.5-tile to go up and down from the pond terrain.

As shown in the picture above, the Wing type hero will reach the enemy with only a 3-tiles movement. While a non-wing hero will take 1 + 1.5(to the water) + 1.5(to the shore) = 4-tiles movement to reach the enemy.

If a non-wing hero only has 3-tiles movement, it means the hero can only go down to the pond terrain, but not up.

Heroes’ movement stats are determined by the following factors:

Weapons:

In the current version, the equipped weapon will determine the hero’s base movement during PvP battles.

Melee Weapon: Melee weapons like Sword, Spear, Axe, Hook,… will give Heroes 3-tiles movement.

Assassin weapon: Small melee weapons like Dagger will give Heroes 4-tiles movement

Magical and Ranged weapon: (Bow, Crossbow, Gun, Staff, Wand…) will give Heroes 2-tiles movement

Equipment:

Special equipment will also affect the movement stat. (unofficial)

Eg:

  • Off-hand equipment like shields will reduce the movement by 1 tile
  • Hermes boots: When equipped, the movement will be increased by 1 tile

(This information is for illustration purposes only)

Passive Skills:

Special skills will help increase the hero’s mobility.

Eg:

Passive skill: When HP is below 50%, hero gains 1-tile movement. When HP is below 30%, hero gains 2-tile movement.

(This information is for illustration purposes only)

Active Skills:

Active skills (mana consumption) may increase or decrease hero’s mobility.

Eg:

  • Skill Frozen Bolt: Shoots an ice ball that deals damage and reduces enemy tile movement by 2.
  • Wind walk: When active increases 2-tile movement and 10% evade of the hero for 2 turns.

(This information is only for illustration purposes)

Special Equipment:

Rare equipment when upgraded to a higher tier will gain 1 tile movement

  1. ** Attack Range**

The attack range of Heroes in Faraland is very diverse. Let’s take a look at all types of attacks and the difference in their attack range.

Normal Attack

The hero’s normal attack range depends on the weapon the hero uses. Each weapon will have its unique attack range:

Sword/Dagger/Hook/Axe/Spear (Melee weapon): 1-tile Attack range

Bow (Range weapon): Can only attack targets in 3 to 4-tiles (can not attack targets in 1-tile and 2-tiles range)

Staff/Wand (Range weapon): Can only attack targets in 2-3 tiles (can not attack targets in 1-tile range)

Spell (Active Skill)

Active Skills have fixed cast range and damage, regardless of the weapon being equipped.

Eg:

  • Skill Lightning Bolt has a cast range of 3-tiles, dealing damage to 1 enemy target. (This information is for illustration purposes only)

Passive Skills

Some Passive skills will affect the hero’s attack range.

Eg:

  • Passive Skill: Increases attack range tiles by 1 and physical damage of bow heroes by 10%.

What is Faraland

Faraland is a role-playing strategy wargame for Android and iOS, developed on blockchain by MoonKnight Labs, a company based in Vietnam. The players control the characters of 7 races: Humans, Orcs, Elves, Fairies, Dragonborns, Angels, and Demons — each with different abilities, strengths, intelligence, and agility, to fight with other players in a universe called Faraland. The game will be released in Q4 2021.

Faraland is an innovation project combining NFT technology and gaming experience. Not only are all exquisitely digital collectibles created using blockchain technology, but all NFT in Faraland can also be integrated into Faraland games later, which will help them increase the value. NFT is the soul of this project. Each Hero, NFT of Faraland, is unique. Each collectible is matchless, genuine, and varies in rarity. Faraland Universe has many different races like human, orc, angel, demon, Dragonborn, elf, and fairy, awaiting the users to discover.

Faraland is different compared to other NFT projects where NFT is solely used for collection. With many exciting gaming activities, Faraland’s users can use their NFT heroes in many unique ways, from equipping them with powerful weapons or shining armors to engaging them in various thrilling battles. It’s a solid and exciting game with a fundamental and engaging storyline. We also focus on the “play and earn” mechanism, making Faraland far beyond a regular game. A variety of options are also available for users, including reinvesting in the game, making your heroes stronger, or cashing out. Our vision is to make Faraland a “dream job” by providing players worldwide opportunities to generate regular income from the project.
