Hello to the entire @holozing community! I'm Lorentm, a passionate digital artist, and I'm excited to share with you my latest creation for Zingtober. For those of you who aren't familiar, Zingtober is an amazing initiative where every day we take a reference word and create an illustration inspired by the Holozing universe. Today is my sixth day participating and the word of the day is "Trek"!
I decided to focus on one of my favorite Holozing characters, the "Male Forest Healer". In this piece, I depict him in a scene of adventure and care, very much in tune with the concept of "Trek". The character moves forward determinedly, holding his staff, while his backpack carries a very special symbol: a four-leaf clover, reflecting his role as a healer. The background, worked in a grayscale, is filled with rolling hills and varied vegetation, giving a sense of depth and movement. The whole scene feels alive, with clouds that seem to float lightly, accompanying the Healer on his journey.
I opted for a monochromatic palette of black, white and grayscale to give it a nostalgic and classic feel, as if we were accompanying the Healer on a long and purposeful journey. The challenge of this Zingtober has allowed me to explore a more contemplative version of the character, highlighting his connection to nature and his mission to heal amidst a serene yet challenging landscape.

Para los que no están familiarizados, Zingtober es una increíble iniciativa donde cada día tomamos una palabra de referencia y creamos una ilustración inspirada en el universo de Holozing. ¡Hoy es mi sexto día participando y la palabra del día es "Trek"!
Decidí centrarme en uno de mis personajes favoritos de Holozing, el “Male Forest Healer”. En esta pieza, lo represento en una escena de aventura y cuidado, muy en sintonía con el concepto de “Trek”. El personaje avanza decidido, sosteniendo su bastón, mientras su mochila lleva un símbolo muy especial: un trébol de cuatro hojas, que refleja su rol como sanador. El fondo, trabajado en una escala de grises, está lleno de colinas suaves y vegetación variada, lo que da una sensación de profundidad y movimiento. Todo el escenario se siente vivo, con nubes que parecen flotar con ligereza, acompañando al Healer en su travesía.
Opté por una paleta monocromática de blanco, negro y escala de grises para darle un aire nostálgico y clásico, como si estuviéramos acompañando al Healer en un viaje largo y cargado de propósito. El reto de este Zingtober me ha permitido explorar una versión más contemplativa del personaje, resaltando su conexión con la naturaleza y su misión de curar en medio de un paisaje sereno pero desafiante.

In the vast and mysterious forests of Holozing, dwells a young healer known as Elian. As a child, Elian showed a special connection to nature, able to hear the whispers of the trees and feel the pulse of the earth beneath his feet. Guided by the ancient spirits of the forest, Elian learned the art of healing using herbs and medicinal plants. Armed with his walking stick and a backpack full of remedies, he travels the forest paths, offering his help to any creature in need. His mission is to maintain the natural balance and heal the wounds of both living creatures and the forest itself. Each step she takes on her journey is a tribute to harmony and dedication, reflecting her deep commitment to life and nature.
En los vastos y misteriosos bosques de Holozing, habita un joven sanador conocido como Elian. Desde niño, Elian mostró una conexión especial con la naturaleza, capaz de escuchar los susurros de los árboles y sentir el pulso de la tierra bajo sus pies. Guiado por los antiguos espíritus del bosque, Elian aprendió el arte de la curación utilizando hierbas y plantas medicinales. Armado con su bastón de caminante y una mochila llena de remedios, recorre los senderos del bosque, ofreciendo su ayuda a cualquier criatura en necesidad. Su misión es mantener el equilibrio natural y sanar las heridas tanto de los seres vivos como del propio bosque. Cada paso que da en su viaje es un tributo a la armonía y la dedicación, reflejando su profundo compromiso con la vida y la naturaleza.

Process / Proceso
To create this "Male Forest Healer" fan art, I started with the stage that always fills me with excitement: the sketch. I like it to be the moment when ideas start to take shape, when I can play with loose lines and bring to life the scene I have in mind. In this case, I wanted the Healer to be in the middle of a walk, conveying both his strength and his connection to nature. The lines were light and fluid, allowing the character's pose and the elements of the landscape to begin to fit together naturally.
Once I was satisfied with the composition of the sketch, I moved on to outlining, where each stroke becomes more precise. This step is essential to define the details I want to highlight, such as the staff the Healer is holding or the texture of his clothes. I made sure that the outlines had enough clarity to highlight both the character and the surrounding environment, without losing the softness of the lines that maintain the dynamism of the scene.
With the outline already defined, it's time for the coloring. Although in this illustration I opted for a monochromatic palette, the grayscale tones allow to play with the atmosphere of the image. Each element has its own shade of gray, which helps to separate the different parts of the scene, from the vegetation in the background to the Healer himself. The dark gray shades add a sense of depth and help guide the eye to the most important elements, such as the four-leaf clover on the character's backpack.
After adding the base tones, I focused on applying shadows and shimmers, which are crucial to give life and volume to the character and the landscape. The shadows mark the relief of the terrain and the folds of the clothing, while the subtle shimmers on the cane and the backpack give it a touch of light that suggests the reflection of a cloudy afternoon. Being a black and white illustration, these contrasts of light and dark are what really elevate the piece, adding to its enveloping atmosphere and highlighting the most important details.
The result is an illustration that not only depicts the "Male Forest Healer" in full adventure, but also captures his essence as a healer in harmony with nature, all in a journey full of purpose.
Para crear este fan art del “Male Forest Healer”, comencé con la etapa que siempre me llena de emoción: el boceto. Me gusta que sea el momento en que las ideas empiezan a tomar forma, cuando puedo jugar con las líneas sueltas y dar vida a la escena que tengo en mente. En este caso, quise que el Healer estuviera en medio de una caminata, transmitiendo tanto su fortaleza como su conexión con la naturaleza. Las líneas eran ligeras y fluidas, permitiendo que la pose del personaje y los elementos del paisaje comenzaran a encajar de manera natural.
Una vez que estuve satisfecha con la composición del boceto, pasé al delineado, donde cada trazo cobra mayor precisión. Este paso es esencial para definir los detalles que quiero destacar, como el bastón que sostiene el Healer o la textura de su ropa. Me aseguré de que los contornos tuvieran la claridad suficiente para hacer resaltar tanto al personaje como el entorno que lo rodea, sin perder la suavidad de las líneas que mantienen el dinamismo de la escena.
Con el delineado ya definido, llega el turno del coloreado. Aunque en esta ilustración opté por una paleta monocromática, las tonalidades en escala de grises permiten jugar con la atmósfera de la imagen. Cada elemento tiene su propio matiz de gris, lo que ayuda a separar las distintas partes de la escena, desde la vegetación del fondo hasta el Healer mismo. Las sombras en gris oscuro añaden una sensación de profundidad y ayudan a guiar la mirada hacia los elementos más importantes, como el trébol de cuatro hojas en la mochila del personaje.
Después de agregar los tonos base, me enfoqué en aplicar sombras y brillos, que son cruciales para dar vida y volumen al personaje y al paisaje. Las sombras marcan el relieve del terreno y las pliegues de la ropa, mientras que los brillos sutiles en el bastón y la mochila le dan un toque de luz que sugiere el reflejo de una tarde nublada. Al ser una ilustración en blanco y negro, estos contrastes de luz y oscuridad son lo que realmente eleva la pieza, añadiéndole una atmósfera envolvente y destacando los detalles más importantes.
El resultado es una ilustración que no solo representa al "Male Forest Healer" en plena aventura, sino que también captura su esencia de sanador en armonía con la naturaleza, todo en un viaje lleno de propósito.
