While this isn't usually a reason to write a post, thought I'd mention and add some thoughts towards it.
At the same time it is something someone may do "behind the scenes" if they'd wanna hype the project up, and I took some time to try and figure out who may have pumped it as it's a bit difficult to track swaps on hive-engine, at least if you're a noob like me. I mostly just did this to verify to our readers that this wasn't something I caused "with alt accounts or some of that sort" so just wanted to get ahead of the rumors/what this may look like.
Seeing as the user has publicized his activity I figured it wouldn't hurt to mention it in this post to the broader audience:
The way I checked who may have bought it is by checking the Zing richlist and noticed a new name in #4, @jeffjagoe.
If you then open up his hive-engine transactions and filter them by Zing: https://he.dtools.dev/@jeffjagoe?symbol=ZING you can see the swaps done over the last day, clicking on the transactions shows you that there was one done for ~5,000 hive and another for ~10,000 hive.
It's quite surprising that an influx of only 15,000 Hive caused the price to go up by 2x+ or so, but I guess that's how small we still are and Hive itself as well considering that's "only" about $3000. Either way, we appreciate your bet on our project Jeff and welcome you to the leaderboards! :)
While that's quite a cool thing on Hive that everything is transparent, I just wanted to make this post because there's always room for shady/sketchy activity in this space unfortunately. Even more so outside of Hive of course where people can easily create a ton of addresses and you never know what "influencers" really are doing behind their web2 accounts as they're not often connected to their web3 wallets which is different here. So it's nice that the person who bought a lot of Zing recently is someone not anon and has been around enough for people not to believe it's one of my alt accounts. :D
Anyway, thanks for the support everyone so far! We are hoping to get going and improving our pace with development with these additional funds entering our ecosystem. Either by buying zing which technically doesn't directly fund the team but may encourage more people to delegate to @zingtoken as they can earn extra passive rewards if they instantly unstake and trade zing for hive while funding the team with curation rewards. Or by buying alpha packs and earning zing through that means soon enough as well.
We've currently sold over 300 vials in just 3 days which translated to roughly $5000 we're storing on zing.cold at the moment until we make plans on how to most efficiently spend it to get the game launched in alpha!
We're quite excited about the near future and I'm personally feeling lucky for the artists we've managed to find and are working diligently to grow the holozing world that awaits everyone!

This recent buy of Zing means that the APR's have shot up widely, keep in mind that the numbers may not last but if you've been on the verge of entering or delegating, it may incentivize you extra to do so now!
Also keep in mind that we're still adding new things, like achievements and collection rewards very soon and that distribution may change based on what we think is most fair. Nothing in this post should be deemed as financial advice or that things will remain the way they are. We have quite a history of distributing zing to contributions of many kinds and we expect to keep that in the best interest of the community and project. Needless to be said this also adds extra value to Hive Power since it'll remain one of the main ways to generate zing for the foreseeable future!
