Have you ever seen this insect? If not, let's get to know it. It's a rice stinkbug, or Cletus punctiger in Latin. It's a species of true bug from the Coreidae family. This insect is a major pest of rice plants, sucking the sap from young rice grains. The one I found wasn't on a rice plant, but in the grass. It was resting peacefully on one of the leaves.
It wasn't moving at all, probably camouflaged. Its coloration was very similar to that of a dry leaf, a golden brown. From a distance, the insect appeared plain brown. But upon closer inspection, its back was adorned with a pattern of small, interconnected dots that formed a pattern that perfectly resembled the veins of a dry leaf. This pattern added an artistic and unique touch to the insect's appearance.
