Riptortus linearis is a type of insect from the alydidae family which is also known as a seed-eating beetle, with a slender and long body shape and a variety of body colors, ranging from brown to black body color, Riptortus linearis has a distinctive appearance, they are often found in tropical and subtropical areas, especially in southeast Asia.

from the observations I made, I discovered the fact that this insect eats seeds and various plants, I found this based on the remaining seeds and several young shoots lying around the insect, from this discovery I assumed that this insect was a grain hunter to grow, apart from that these insects also form a food chain for other predators so their presence is considered important in the ecosystem, but on the contrary, their presence in the agricultural environment is very worrying because they can become pests that damage cultivated plants.

yeah, although this is only a brief experience, I have to admit that observing Riptortus linearis has given me insight into the interactions between insects and the environment around them, as well as their role in the larger ecosystem, I hope to carry out further research, so I can understand how to manage them for ecosystem balance and plant protection.
