Today I will make a Tutorial or Diy of Collar and Leash for Sami, who is my Golden Retriever, since her walking chain got rusty and she has been several weeks without going out to exercise and walk with my daughters, who by the way I think are more desperate to take her out than Sami herself, since it is routine that in the afternoons they go for a walk around the urbanization with Sami, and socialize with other pets.
Hoy realizaré un Tutorial o Diy de Collar y Correa para Sami, quien es mi Golden Retriever, ya que desprevenidamente se oxidó su cadena para paseo y ya tiene varias semanas sin salir a hacer ejercicio y pasear con mis hijas, quienes por cierto creo que están más desesperadas por sacarla que la misma Sami, ya que es rutina que en las tardes salgan a dar una vuelta por la urbanización con Sami, y socializar con otras mascotas.
So, I decided to make her a collar and a leash to walk her, and as an additional accessory a scarf for Sami to look more flirtatious, all with few materials since I used materials that I already had for making bags and backpacks, that is to say that I made it with the materials I had, but I liked the result so much that I think that in another opportunity I will buy other materials to have more variety of models and colors to pamper this other member of the family, because a pet is certainly another member of the family.

Entonces, decidí hacerle un collar y una correa para pasearla, y como accesorio adicional un pañuelo para que Sami se vea más coqueta, todo con pocos materiales ya que utilicé materiales que ya tenía por la elaboración de bolsos y morrales, es decir que confeccioné con lo materiales que disponía, pero me ha gustado tanto el resultado que creo que en otra oportunidad voy a comprar otros materiales para tener más variedad de modelos y colores para consentir a este otro miembro de la familia, porque una mascota es ciertamente otro miembro de la familia.

THE NECKLACE - Step by step
EL COLLAR - Paso a paso
In the material I chose to make the collar, sky canvas, I cut a piece of 12 cms x 44 cms. This according to the size I needed for Sami, who is a medium to large dog. I folded this piece towards the center at the edges until they met, and then folded it again until it was approximately 2.50 cm wide. I fasten with the pressure clips, to ensure it doesn't open or move.
En el material que escogí para hacer el collar, loneta sky, corté una pieza de 12 cms x 44 cms. Esto de acuerdo a la medida que necesitaba para Sami que es una perrita mediana o grande. Esta pieza la doble hacia el centro en sus bordes hasta que se encuentren, y luego la doblé nuevamente hasta que me quedó de aproximadamente 2,50 cms de ancho. Fijo con la clips de presión, para garantizar que no se abra o mueva.
On the sewing machine, I sew straight stitching around all the edges. I did it with red thread to give it some contrast.
En la máquina de coser paso costura recta alrededor de todos los bordes. Lo hice con hilo rojo para darle algo de contraste.
On one of the ends I begin to assemble the pieces. I insert the crescent and also one of the sides of the brooch. I go back underneath where I will close with stitching.
En uno de los extremos comienzo a realizar el armado de las piezas. Introduzco la medialuna y también uno de los lados del broche. Me regreso por debajo donde cerraré con costura.
I fix the pieces with pressure clips, and pass a straight seam by passing it several times to reinforce it well. The crescent will be inside this seam, and its function will be to anchor or connect this necklace to the chain.
Fijo las piezas con clips de presión, y paso una costura recta pasándola varias veces para reforzar bien. La medialuna quedará dentro de esta costura, y su función será de anclaje posterior o conexión de este collar con la cadena.
Now I will sew the other end of the collar to the other end of the brooch. I make sure that the measurement is correct for Sami's neck which would be 43 cm long, the other centimeters are for folding and sewing, also passing several times to reinforce the seam.
Ahora el otro extremo del collar lo coseré igualmente al otro extremo del broche. Me aseguro de que la medida sea la correcta para el cuello de Sami que sería 43 cms de largo, los demás centímetros son para doblar y coser, pasando igualmente varias veces para reforzar la costura.
With these simple steps, Sami's necklace is ready, with its easy-open clasp and the half-moon to connect to the chain.

I chose this fabric because it is extremely light and very fresh, almost like a gauze, it has fun colors as well as its design. With the fabric folded I cut a square, and then folded it to form a triangle, which I sewed along the free edges leaving an opening to flip over and then sew to close.
Escogí esta tela porque es sumamente liviana y muy fresca, casi como una gasa, tiene colores divertidos al igual que su diseño. Con la tela doblada corté un cuadrado, y luego doblé para formar un triángulo, el cual cosí por los bordes libres dejando una apertura para voltear y luego coser para cerrar.
With this simple triangle I have the scarf for Sami, I didn't want to make it with snaps or elastic, maybe in another design I will do it, but I like that it is so simple and easy to use.
Ya con este simple triángulo tengo la bufanda para Sami, no la quise hacer con broches ni elástica, tal vez en otro diseño si lo haga, pero me gusta que sea así de simple y fácil de usar.

STRAP - Step by step

This strip of poly tape measures 1,50cms and I found it ideal to make the leash, it is not going to be that long, but it is just how my daughters use it with Sami, since they make her walk very close to them.
I also have a plastic hook that is quite strong despite being plastic. I took one of the ends and put it on the hook.
Esta tira de cinta poli que mide 1,50cms y me pareció ideal para hacer la correa, no va a quedar tan larga, pero es justo como la usan mis hijas con Sami, ya que la hacen caminar muy cerca de ellas.
También tengo un gancho de plástico que es bastante fuerte a pesar de ser de plástico. Tomé uno de los extremos y lo meto en el gancho.
Then, I sew it with straight stitching and passing several times to reinforce it well.
Luego, lo coso con costura recta y pasando varias veces para reforzarla bien.
At the other end of the strap I make a fold considering that my hand fits comfortably in to function as a handle, and sew with stitching and reinforcement.
En el otro extremo de la correa hago un doblez considerando que mi mano entre cómodamente en para que funcione como agarradera, y coso con costura y refuerzo.
Just like that I have my Sami Kit of Collar, Leash and Bandana, all very simple but beautiful.
