Hello Hive.
Happy new week to all of us and like you know today ends the needlwework your jean contest which I have fought so hard not to miss out.
I wasn't fortunate enough to participate in the christmas decoration contest and I wasn't ready to let this pass me by.
So I hurried and got some jean fabric as I didn't have enough recycle jean to work with after using some of my old jean skirt to make this embellished tote bag.
It was a race against time as series of offline activities kept me away from getting this ready on time and I can bet you will meet me at this time still working on my dress.
Have seen this long array of your creative work with the denim fabric all along, and I didn't want to make a bag or anything of that sort,
Oh how I desired to have a jean dress for so long now.
Series of design came to my mind while cutting this fabric at about 8am this morning but if I wanted to explore this might take a little while to get completed.
So I kept this very simple.
The concept behind this was for me to send a heart shape to all my needlework family, telling everyone of you about how much I love and cherish you.
You have been amazing and have become a part of my life.
Helping me in different ways, the kind words, encouragement and advice to pursue my career.
Total strangers became friends closer than a sister and because you mean so much to me, I dedicate a simple design to say thank you for loving me so.
I love you all. โค๐๐บ๐นโค๐ท๐นโค๐๐น.
The working process saw me cutting a simple straight dress which I made a love shape to fill in our African print fabric but guess what....
I can't tell what became if my dress, and the love shape became bigger than I want it, its not what I wished it to be.
And to think that I made this dress without ironing was is simply amazing. The ankara wasn't giving me a nice stand because it had no interface in between or a neat ironing.
I just have to make this dress and I had to challenge myself to improvise means that I can sew without ironing
And I can not afford the stress of a charcoal fire for ironing today.
Still lost for sleeve ideas( which is always my major problem with sewing) as I don't want additional denim for the sleeve my project seem half done but I hope the message of love is passed across.
I might just have to remove the heart shape and make it smaller, what do you all think?.
Let us love and be love that we can build a better world full of love and not war or hatred for one another.
