SUMMER CANDY COLLECTION || Crochet Summer Hat Tutorial

I was filled with lots of orders this month of April, making my schedule busy and having no time to share here. It's been 2 weeks now, since my last post, though I wasn't done with all of them, I decided to share with you now some of the crocheted items I made in the past few days.

My Client

I've gotten this made-to-order crochet top, panty, and summer hat from a lady who can crochet also. She just message me on Facebook, (though we're not friends) and ordered 2 sets of crochet swimwear. The first set compost crocheted monokini with a bag, while the second set compost a summer hat, top, and panty. I didn't ask her how did she able to find me and why she ordered crochet since she's a crocheter, but I did some investigating and found out that she's also selling them abroad, though she was living in Taguig (Philippines) right now. Her husband is an American as I saw on her profile picture and this is evident with her last name. Yes, I'm stalking my client, lol.😅

Yarn Color

She chooses the color neon pink for this set which is very hard to find online. I spent the whole day looking for this kind of color on shop (my favorite online shop since they are offering Cash on Delivery with vouchers for free shipping) and found nothing close to neon pink. Then I tried looking on Lazada (another online shop whose shipping fee is a little expensive) and finally found it. I was so happy to finally find the right yarn, making me order more than I need. They look like candies for me in the photo, to be honest. 😅

(Picture from Lazada shop just to give you the perfect shot of the color since I can't make it myself.)

I waited 1 week before my ordered yarn arrived. And I was so happy to get exactly the same shade of color from the picture.

Now, I'll be sharing with you this summer candy collection (that's what I wanted to call, it because why not?😅) and how I was able to make this summer hat which is very easy and fast.

I was so excited to begin with my project and wanted to finish it immediately.

Here's how to do it.

I used a 3mm crochet hook and double pull the 12-ply soft polyester yarn to make it sturdy. The client wanted me to use polyester yarn.

To begin with, I made a magic ring to form the 21 inches circumference doily.

After making the flat circle with lots of increasing on each round which will be the base ofbeganhat, I begun doing the 3.5 inches headband area where I just follow the stitches of the last round of the base.

Then, on the brim area of the hat, I just use double crochet on every layer making some increase on the 1st and 4th round of the brim.

I put also some leather tags with the word "handmade" on it to level up its appearance. I ordered this also on shopee.

Here's how it looked like after. The whole process takes me whole day working on and off due to motherly duties. I'm loving the whole output and thinking of making another one in different color.

Please pardon me for the photos that showed different shades of neon pink. I really tried to edit them but doesn't know how to blend perfectly.

For a seller like me, it's very important to take the exact color of your product (just the way the lazada seller did to her yarn photo) to give the buyers the idea what to expect before receiving the product.

But you can always present a different picture with the same color preference just to give your prospect buyers the idea. And be honest to put a note about the color.

Hope you find this post interesting and helpful. 'Till next time.

Love lots,
@jonalyn2020
