Greetings everyone, I am pleased to participate in OCD's Community Momentum Contest #7: Highlighting NeedleWorkMonday; contests that OCD has been running in the Community Incubation Program, where it has been helping community leaders and moderators grow their gender-specific communities through focused curation.
Para participar en el concurso decid铆 hacer un porta cosmeticos muy practico para guardar el maquillaje, pero que tambien puede servirte para llevar las toallas intimas o de monedero, o en fin para lo que se te ocurra.
To participate in the contest I decided to make a very practical cosmetic holder to store makeup, but it can also be used to carry intimate towels or purse, or whatever you can think of.
Es una bolsa muy sencilla y economica de elaborar, los materiales que utilice son los siguientes: Tela y un cierre (que ya tenia en casa), hilo, un poco de silic贸n liquido, un trozo de papel y por supuesto nuestra aguja de coser.
It is a very simple and economical bag to make, the materials I used are as follows: Fabric and a zipper (that I already had at home), thread, some liquid silicone, a piece of paper and of course our sewing needle.
Lo primero que hice cortar en el trozo de papel un patr贸n rectangular, para usarlo como gu铆a al cortar la tela.
The first thing I did was to cut on the piece of paper a rectangular pattern, to use it as a guide when cutting the fabric.
Usando mi patr贸n, doble la tela y proced铆 a cortarla, no deje margen de costura porque es lo suficiente grande como para que no disminuya mucho el tama帽o.
Using my pattern, I folded the fabric and proceeded to cut it out, leaving no seam allowance because it's big enough that it won't shrink too much.
A continuaci贸n coci la parte derecha e izquierda, ya que como use la tela doblada, no necesito coser abajo y en la parte superior va el cierre:
Next I sewed the right and left side, since I used the folded fabric, I don't need to sew underneath and on the top goes the zipper:
Despues de haber cocido ambos lados proced铆 a voltear mi pieza:
After cooking both sides I proceeded to flip my piece:
Ya lista nuestra bolsa, procedemos a colocar el cierre en la parte superior.
Once our bag is ready, we proceed to place the zipper at the top.
Despues de coser el cierre, corte un trozo de tela e hice una peque帽a asa para colocarla a un lado de mi porta cosmeticos.
After sewing the zipper, I cut a piece of fabric and made a small handle to place on the side of my cosmetic holder.
Con hilo blanco borde la letra Jota que es la inicial de mi nombre para darle un toque personal a mi creaci贸n:
With white thread I embroider the letter Jota which is the initial of my name to give a personal touch to my creation:
Y listo ya tengo mi practico porta cosmeticos, donde puedo llevar mi maquillaje donde quiera que vaya!
And now I have my practical cosmetics holder, where I can take my makeup wherever I go!
