Estamos en el mes patrio (28 de julio), eso significa que el Perú está de fiesta. Por tal motivo, en la capital (quizá también en otros departamentos) hay diversos eventos relacionados a difundir nuestra cultura ¡Yehhh!.
Y si nos vamos al rubro del tejido, nos encontramos con el "Festival Lima Teje" en su 4° edición. Esta vez se realizó en el Centro de convenciones los días 13 y 14 de julio. Hubieron Talleres, expositores, charlas libre, divertidos juegos y muchos stands donde vendías hilos, lanas, bolsos, accesorios de tejido y prendas tejidas... De seguro me dirás: Diana, ¿por qué no fuiste las ediciones pasadas?...y te responderé: porque diversos motivos, jaja.

This time it was held at the Convention Centre on 13 and 14 july. There were workshops, exhibitors, free talks, fun games and many stands selling yarns, wool, bags, weaving accessories and woven clothes... I'm sure you'll say to me: Diana, why didn't you go to the previous editions?...and I'll answer you: because of different reasons, jaja.

Días antes del evento, participé y gané un par de entradas para ir al Festival. Inmediatamente ví el cronograma del evento para ver qué actividades habían y quienes estarían allí. Esto lo hago cada vez que voy a un evento, para coordinar el horario a ir. Ayer por la mañana cuando estaba tejiendo a Supay, recordé que me faltaba hilo de bordar, es decir Supay no iba a ser entregado. En ese momento cogí uno de los 3 Supay de la 1° versión (el último que tenía) y lo llevé conmigo.
Days before the event, I participated and won a pair of tickets to go to the Festival. I immediately looked at the event's schedule to see what activities were going on and who would be there. I do this every time I go to an event, to coordinate the schedule. Yesterday morning when I was crocheting Supay, I remembered that I was missing embroidery thread and Supay was not going to be delivered. At that moment I took one of the 3 Supay from the 1st version (the last one I had) and took it with me.
"Ha siendo marcas artesanales en entornos digitales". Si, este título llamó mi atención, mejor aún si lo dictaría Julia (mas conocida como July) de Mamaquilla. Fue súper interesante, me encantó cuando dijo que cuando subimos un video y luego de años lo vemos y no nos gusta, recordemos que lo hicimos con lo mejor que tuvimos en ese momento.
Mi sorpresa fue de también ver a Celeste de Bhindi crochet, al ser tallerista no creí verla. Ella también nos comentó su experiencia en las redes y lo importante de la perseverancia en lo que hacemos. Julia y Celeste son de Argentina y verlas en este Festival enriquece nuestros lazos como países hispanohablantes de Latinoamérica (LATAM).
"Ha being handmade brands in digital environments". Yes, this title caught my attention, even better if it was dictated by Julia (better known as July) from Mamaquilla. It was super interesting, I loved it when she said that when we upload a video and after years we see it and we don't like it, let's remember that we did it with the best we had at the time.
My surprise was also to see Celeste from Bhindi crochet, as she is a workshop leader I didn't think I would see her. She also told us about her experience in social networks and the importance of perseverance in what we do. Julia and Celeste are from Argentina and seeing them at this Festival strengthens our ties as Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America (LATAM).
Luego de que Supay se fuera con su dueña, enseguida recorrí los stands. Algo que llamó mi atención fue la asistencia de niñas y jóvenes, porque los sentí felices en este lugar y con ganas de seguir aprendiendo más del crochet, palitos y costura. Por otro lado, la decoración de Lana Wasi estaba de lujo, ellos ofrecen diversos accesorios, hilos, lanas, etc...Solo diré que por eso no uso el clásico marcador de puntos.
After Supay left with her owner, I immediately went around the stands. Something that caught my attention was the attendance of girls and young people, because I felt them happy in this place and eager to continue learning more about crochet, sticks and sewing. On the other hand, the decoration of Lana Wasi was luxurious, they offer different accessories, yarns and wool... I will only say that for this reason I don't use the classic stitch marker.
El Tapestry es una técnica que me sigue maravillando por su amplio uso de figuras geométricas, combinaciones de colores y texturas. En la imagen de abajo vemos el macramé (bolso), trapillo (bolso) y el nylon (monederos de cachorros).

Generalmente tejo todo lo que me gusta, siempre y cuando tenga los materiales y tenga un uso. En este caso, hace años conocí los Atrapasueños, en ese entonces creía en lo místico y eso, aunque no tenía los materiales disponibles. Ahora observo y veo los tamaños reales, los materiales usados y los diseños que habían en la Feria.

Según mi experiencia en hilos, lanas y otras fibras, cuando están así tipo enroscadas o enrrolladas son para tejer prendas de vestir (sobre todo para el frío), mas aún si son matizadas (imagen izquierda). Y si los hilos están en madejas o conos son para amigurumi (imagen derecha). Por cierto, estos hilos vienen desde Japón. Si bien estos últimos tienen un acabado delicado (Habían unas muñecas de Frozen como modelos), al ser mezcla con acrílico tiene desventajas al momento de tejer y en el producto final...Como digo, esto es según mi experiencia. Aunque sí los utilizaría para elaborar cartucheras o monederos.

And if the yarns are in skeins or cones they are for amigurumi (right image). By the way, these yarns come from Japan. Although the latter have a delicate finish (there were some Frozen dolls as models), as they are mixed with acrylic they have disadvantages when crocheting and in the final product... As I say, this is according to my experience. Although I would use them to make pencil cases or purses.
