Tejer animalitos para mí son experiencias retadoras, porque conocemos o tenemos una idea cuando nos hablan de animales. Mas aún, si se trata de un perro.
Amigo, es el nombre que le puso Guaman Poma a uno de sus perritos. Y estoy aprovechando esta oportunidad para diseñarlo a escala de Guaman Poma. Luego, diseñaré uno cuanto perritos más de distintas razas (espero terminarlo este año). Por el momento, aquí mi avance diseñando el patrón base de nuestro amigo de 4 patas.
Crocheting animals is a challenging experience for me, because we know or have an idea when we are told about animals. Even more so if it is a dog.
Amigo, that's the name Guaman Poma gave to one of his little dogs. And I'm taking this opportunity to design it to Guaman Poma's scale. Then, I will design a few more puppies of different breeds (I hope to finish it this year). For the moment, here is my progress designing the base pattern of our 4 legged friend.

Esta foto me pareció curiosa. Para diseñar a Amigo, utilicé hilo negro y clips como guía. Me ayudan un montón para orientarme y ver cómo la pieza va tomando forma.
I found this picture curious. To design Amigo, I used black thread and paper clips as a guide. They help me a lot to orient myself and see how the piece is taking shape.
Amigo tiene las orejas largas y algo caídas. Aquí me quedaron cortas, jaja. El hilo negro marca el inicio de la pieza, indicándome el centro. Por eso lo dejé fijo.
Amigo's ears are long and a bit droopy. Here they are short, jaja. The black thread marks the beginning of the piece, indicating the centre. That's why I left it fixed.
En este momento según yo ya estaba listo el cachorro. Luego, tras ver la foto me dí cuenta que faltaba el hocico, cola y bordado del rostro. Esto me pasa varias veces, jaja.
At this moment, according to me, the puppy was ready. Then, after looking at the photo I realised that the muzzle, tail and face embroidery were missing. This happens to me several times, jaja.
Ahara sí parece perro...Estos detalles del bordado marcan la diferencia entre los tejedores. Amigo al ser pequeño, el bordado del rostro fue hecho con hilo de bordar de 3 hebras. Esto para darle un mejor acabado.
Now it does look like a dog... These embroidery details make the difference between weavers. Friend being small, the embroidery on the face was done with 3 strand embroidery thread. This is to give it a better finish.
Creo que puedo mejorar algunos detalles en el patrón de Amigo, por lo que pronto verás su otra versión. Este cachorro mide 6 cm de altura, posiblemente el otro sea igual o menor a este tamaño.
I think I can improve some details in Amigo's pattern, so soon you will see his other version. This puppy is 2.4 in tall, possibly the other one is equal or smaller than this size.
