Desafío de las agujas de Halloweek, día 5: Libros, amigos o enemigos/ Halloweek Needle Challenge Day 5: Books, friend or foe?

Hoy hablaremos de un amiguito del cual en un inicio dudé en incorporarlo o no a este reto #halloweek . Luego analicé y puede ser que para algunos niños y no tan niños los libros aún sigan siendo su peor pesadilla.

Today we are going to talk about a little friend who I initially hesitated whether or not to include in this #halloweek challenge. Then I analysed and it may be that for some children and not so children books are still their worst nightmare.

Antes que nada, para este diseño me inspiré en colores contrastantes. Porque el objetivo del libro amigurumi (aún sin nombre) es no pasar desapercibido. Otra cosa, los amigurumis tejidos para este reto (a excepción de la brujita y Petunia) fueron rellenados con restos de hilo para darle un segundo uso y tener menos residuos.

First of all, for this design I was inspired by contrasting colours. Because the aim of the amigurumi book (as yet unnamed) is not to go unnoticed. Another thing, the amigurumis knitted for this challenge (except for the little witch and Petunia) were stuffed with leftover yarn to give them a second use and have less waste.

Hay a quienes les encanta leer desde niños y quienes no quieren saber nada de estos. En mi caso opté por la segunda opción. De pequeña detestaba los libros, sobre todo las obras literarias que nos obligaban a leer en el colegio. Si bien son "clásicos", no me parece correcto que desde niños nos manden a leer textos con un lenguaje antiquísimo y lleno de sinónimos...Y con múltiples personajes.

There are those who love reading as children and those who don't want to know anything about it. In my case, I opted for the second option. When I was a child I hated books, especially the literary works we were forced to read at school. Even though they are "classics", I don't think it's right that from childhood we are sent to read texts with very old language and full of synonyms... And with multiple characters.

Aparte que no entendía en absoluto de qué trataba la obra, tenía que sacar el resumen. Fuera del colegio, un tío me hacía leer libros complejos para mi edad porque por mas que leía no entendía...al final cada vez que tenía en mis manos un libro me quedaba en la introducción y terminaba dormida.

Apart from the fact that I didn't understand what the book was about, I had to get the summary. Outside of school, an uncle made me read complex books for my age because no matter how much I read I didn't understand...in the end, every time I had a book in my hands I would get stuck in the introduction and end up falling asleep.

Los dos últimos años para terminar el colegio, un profesor hizo que eligiésemos libros que realmente queríamos leer y así fue. La verdad, desde ese momento le dí una oportunidad a los libros. Elegimos libros que estaban de moda en esa época, es decir libros escritos para el público adolescente. Me sorprendió que existiesen ese tipo de libros, es decir con palabras coloquiales como internet, computadora, correo e-mail, nombres comerciales de las drogas, jergas, etc. y ni qué decir del nombre de las ciudades que mencionaban, todo era de esta época.

The last two years before finishing school, a teacher made us choose books that we really wanted to read, and we did. Actually, from that moment on, I gave books a chance. We chose books that were fashionable at the time, that is, books written for the teenage audience. I was surprised that there were such books, i.e. with colloquial words like internet, computer, e-mail, commercial names of drugs, slang, etc. and not to mention the names of the cities they mentioned, everything was from that time.

Eso no fue todo, además nos hizo elaborar mapas mentales a manera de resumen de los libros. Eso también implicaba "dibujar", por lo que me motivó más leer los libros para leer atenta la parte donde describen a los personajes principales.

Hace un par de años volví a leer libros aunque esta vez son originales. Si algún niño o padre lee esto y no le agrada la lectura, está bien. Aunque si se da un tiempito diario y desea aprender cosas nuevas puede animarse a leer un libro del género que prefiera (en eso se parece a las películas, pero lo libros tienen mucho más detalles). Le recomiendo que empiece a leer libros cortos como: La lección de August, La culpa es de la vaca, quien se llevó mi queso, entre otros.

That wasn't all, she also made us draw mind maps as a summary of the books. That also involved "drawing", so I was more motivated to read the books to read carefully the part where the main characters are described.

A couple of years ago I started reading books again, although this time they are originals. If a child or parent reads this and doesn't like reading, that's fine. However, if you give yourself a little time every day and you want to learn new things, you can read a book in the genre you prefer (it's similar to the movies, but the books have much more detail). I recommend that you start reading short books such as: August's Lesson, The Cow's Fault, Who Took My Cheese, among others.

Recuerda, leer un libro solo depende de cómo lo veas tú.
Remember, reading a book only depends on how you see it.
