¡Feliz lunes, amigos de #nedleworkmonday!
Empiezo la semana super feliz, porque he terminado mi quinto proyecto amigurumi, esta vez hice a Stitch.
Este adorable extraterrestre fue todo un reto muy interesante, porque para lograrlo tuve que hacer muchas piezas. Creo que de todos los muñequitos que he realizado hasta ahora es el que lleva más piezas y detalles.
Siempre me gustó este personaje, aunque recien me di cuenta que nunca vi completa la pelicula y que no sabia que era un experimento. Fue un descubrimiento impactante saber que Stitch era malo porque fue creado con fines destructivos. Quiza siempre lo vi con los mismos ojos amorosos de Lilo, y por eso me parecia adorable y esponjoso.
Hacer las orejas fue todo un reto, tanto que me plantee cambiar el diseño del patrón e improvisarlas de otra forma, pero finalmente se lograron.
Cuando empezé a unir las piezas me di cuenta que la nariz me habia quedado muy pequeña, así que se la quité y la hice un poco más grande. Mi hijo dice que este Stitch es una mezcla entre un Stitch y un koala 😂 y la verdad es que le doy toda la razón.
Es interesante hacer estos muñecos e ir conociendo la historia de sus personajes y darme cuenta que aunque hay personajes, personajes que se han vuelto parte de la cultura popular y que todos reconocemos, aunque me doy cuenta, que muchas veces, sabemos realmente poco de sus historias.
Lilo adoptó a Stitch y aunque él era problematico, ella no se rindió, le dio amor y finalmente él se sintió parte de una familia.
Yo disfruté demasiado haciendo este personaje, poniendome nuevos retos y encontrando nuevas maneras de hacer las cosas. Ya me siento con la seguridad necesaria para empezar a tomar pedidos y ponerle precio a mis creaciones.
Este fin de semana tuve una visita muy especial, una de esas pequeñas que vi crecer, se convirtió en mamá hace unos meses. Fue un recuentro hermoso despues de 6 años. No se imaginan lo feliz que me sentí al regalarle mi amigurumi de jigglypuff para su pequeña bebé.
No hay fotos de ese encuentro por respeto a su privacidad, pero fue un dia muy hermoso.

I'm starting the week super happy, because I've finished my fifth amigurumi project, this time I made Stitch.
This adorable alien was a very interesting challenge, because to achieve it I had to make many pieces. I think that of all the dolls I've made so far, it's the one with the most pieces and details.
I always liked this character, although I just realized that I never saw the entire movie and that I didn't know he was an experiment. It was a shocking discovery to know that Stitch was evil because he was created for destructive purposes. Maybe I always saw him with the same loving eyes as Lilo, and that's why I found him adorable and fluffy.
Making the ears was quite a challenge, so much so that I considered changing the pattern design and improvising them in another way, but finally they were achieved.
When I started to join the pieces I realized that the nose had become too small, so I took it off and made it a little bigger. My son says that this Stitch is a mix between a Stitch and a koala 😂 and the truth is that I totally agree with him.
It's interesting to make these dolls and learn the history of their characters and realize that although there are characters, characters that have become part of popular culture and that we all recognize, although I realize that many times, we really know little about their stories.
Lilo adopted Stitch and although he was problematic, she didn't give up, she gave him love and finally he felt part of a family.
I really enjoyed making this character, setting new challenges and finding new ways to do things. I now feel confident enough to start taking orders and setting prices for my creations.
This weekend I had a very special visitor, one of those little ones I watched grow up, became a mom a few months ago. It was a beautiful reunion after 6 years. You can't imagine how happy I felt to give her my jigglypuff amigurumi for her little baby.
There are no photos of that meeting out of respect for her privacy, but it was a very beautiful day.
