I have been wanting to decorate some hair bows for my daughter Rafaella's hair for a while, because she is finally growing and now I can make her the typical two little ponytails that look so good on little girls. My daughter's hair is extremely thin, it's baby hair and although she is 3 years old her hair is more like newborn fluff, so I don't like to make tight buns and I prefer clips and headbands, but I couldn't resist the temptation and I bought her a pack of rubber bands, but the fabric ones, they come in pretty colors but other than that they are a little boring, so they would look great with crochet flowers and it's a great hair accessory.

Hace un tiempo que deseaba decorar unas ligas para el cabello a mi hija Rafaella, pues al fin le está creciendo y ahora si puedo realizarle las típicas dos colitas que van tan bien a las pequeñas niñas. Mi hija tiene el cabello extremadamente delgado, es cabello de bebé y aunque ya tiene 3 años su pelo es más bien una pelusa como de recién nacido, por lo que no me gusta hacerle moños apretados y prefiero pinzas y diademas, pero no pude resistir la tentación y le compré su respectivo paquete de ligas, pero de las que son de tela, vienen en lindos colores pero fuera de eso son un poco aburridas, por eso les quedarían muy bien unas flores a crochet y es un magnifico accesorio para el cabello.

The process is simple, but you have to take special care when placing the rubber bands because it can happen like in the first ponytail I made where I didn't calculate the position well and once I tie the hair, no matter how hard I try to keep the flower straight, it always moves, unlike the one with the rubber band well positioned.

El proceso es simple, pero hay que tener especial cuidado al momento de colocar las ligas ya que puede pasar como en la primera coleta que arme donde no calculé bien la posición y una vez que amarro el cabello, por más que intento que la flor quede derecha, siempre se mueve, a diferencia de la que sí tiene la liga bien posicionada.

Let's see the details, first we make a magic ring of 6 single crochet stitches and then in the second round we increase to 12, then to 18 and then to 24 single crochet stitches. This increase is progressive and so far this is the one I handle, where the increases are done in multiples of 6 and in the first round we increase to double, in the third round every 1 stitch, in the fourth round every two stitches and so on and I'm pretty sure this is known to most, but it may be useful to someone so it's worth mentioning.

After we have a circle of 24 low stitches, we make 3 rounds of 24 to gain height, we begin to knit the petals, and these flowers have 12, first a chain of 3 medium high stitches in one stitch, 3 chain stitches in the side stitch. In each petal we will use 2 stitches from the base of the circumference, that is why at the end we will get 12 petals.

Luego de tener un círculo de 24 puntos bajos, realizamos 3 vueltas de 24 para ganar altura, comenzamos a tejer los pétalos, y estas flores tiene 12, primero una cadena de 3 puntos medios altos en un mismo punto, 3 puntos cadenas en el punto del lado. En cada pétalo usaremos 2 puntos de la base de la circunferencia, es por ello que al final obtendremos 12 pétalos.

We have also knitted another disk of 24 stitches that we are going to sew to the flower at the bottom. We start sewing and when we have sewn 1 quarter of the circumference we position the garter and we make sure to give a stitch on it so that it does not slip, we leave the opening to fill and finish the seam.

A parte hemos tejido otro disco de 24 puntos que vamos a coser a la flor en la parte de abajo. Comenzamos a coser y cuando hemos cosido 1 cuarto de la circunferencia posicionamos la liga y nos aseguramos de dar una puntada sobre la misma para que no se deslice, dejamos la abertura para rellenar y terminamos la costura.

I sewed eyes and a big smile on the pink flowers which makes them look very cute and I left the light blue flowers as they were because I wanted them to be a little more formal, well, if that word fits because they are totally casual ponytails.

A las flores de color rosa le cosí ojos y una gran sonrisa que las hace lucir muy tiernas y las flores de color celeste las deje tal cual estaban porque las deseaba un poco más formales, bueno, si es que cabe esta palabra porque son coletas totalmente casuales.
