A Misty Darwin Forest

This morning, the mist was so thick that I could hardly see in front of me as I drove towards one of my favourite forests.

I was beginning to regret setting off as the mist got thicker the more I got out into the countryside. When I finally arrived at the forest, the mist enveloped everything in a soft blanket.

The spider's webs were more noticeable in the mist as they glistened with dewdrops.

As I walked along the footpath, I noticed the changing colours of autumn. I enjoy this time of year.

I enjoyed a quick snack, plucking a few ripe blackberries along the way. They were nice and sweet. I eat them off the stalks high up, so I know dogs haven't piddled on them!

It looks like tree number 12 is for the chop as it is dead as a dodo.

It is getting nearer to the fungi coming through. Today, was perfect weather for them. I think this was a amanita vaginata, also known as the "gaping milkcap" or "vaginata mushroom". Someone might tell me.

As I left the forest, I noticed a couple of photographers setting up their tripods to also capture the misty forest. I think the weather is sticking around for the weekend, so there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
